[Exclusive] OPPO Reno 16 series to launch in India this July, four models expected
The OPPO Reno 16 series is set to launch in China on May 25th. The lineup will feature two phones: Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro. Both phones are part of OPPO’s popular premium mid-range series, which will succeed the Reno 15 lineup. OPPO’s Reno series is available in India as well, and like before, we expect the Reno 16 phones to arrive in India after their China debut. Although there’s no official confirmation yet, 91mobiles has learnt that the Reno 16 series will launch in India this July.

According to information shared by industry sources, the OPPO Reno 16 series will launch in India this July. This would be after a month since its debut in China. The timing seems likely, as the Reno 14 series also arrived in India around the same time last year. OPPO refreshes its Reno lineup biannually.

It’s also tipped that four models from the Reno 16 lineup will launch in India. This includes the Reno 16, Reno 16 Pro, Reno 16 Pro Mini, and Reno 16c. The latter two phones haven’t been confirmed yet, but OPPO might be planning to continue with this strategy of offering around four phones from its Reno lineup. OPPO Reno 16 series: what to expect
The Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro are expected to launch with these specs:

- Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 8550 (Reno 16), MediaTek Dimensity 9500s (Reno 16 Pro)
- Cameras: 200MP Samsung HP5 primary, 50MP ultra-wide, 50MP periscope telephoto.
- Battery, charging: 6,700mAh (Reno 16), 7,000mAh battery (Reno 16 Pro); 80W wired, 50W wireless charging
OPPO’s Reno series follows a strategy focused on premium design, cameras, and battery endurance, more than raw performance. The Reno 16 lineup is expected to offer the same based on its specifications. In comparison to the Reno 15 Pro, the camera setup is similar, but OPPO may add under-the-hood improvements. We’re also getting bigger batteries with the Reno 16 series compared to the Reno 15 lineup.
If you want a premium compact phone, the Reno 16 would be a good fit, but for those who want a flagship-level experience, the Reno 16 Pro might be a better choice. We should still wait for the official specs and pricing to see how much of an upgrade the Reno 16 series offers. Also, those who already own a Reno 15 series phone should wait for reviews to see any significant upgrades.
