OPPO Reno 16, Reno 16 Pro storage and colour variants officially revealed
OPPO is gearing up to launch the Reno 16 series in China on May 25th, and ahead of the official debut, both upcoming smartphones have surfaced through OPPO’s own online store listings. The pre-order pages for the OPPO Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro have revealed official renders, colour options, and memory configurations, giving a clearer look at the upcoming premium mid-range smartphones.

The standard OPPO Reno 16 will launch in three colours: Heartbeat Star (white), Galaxy Purple and Midnight Black. There are several storage options to choose from, including 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB and a top-end 16GB + 1TB variant. Meanwhile, the Reno 16 Pro will arrive in Heartbeat Star, Dream Blue and Midnight Black shades, though with fewer configuration options capped at 16GB + 512GB.

OPPO Reno 16 series: what to expect
Leaks suggest OPPO may differentiate the two models not just through performance but also through size and usability. The Reno 16 is tipped to feature a compact 6.32-inch flat OLED display with 1.5K resolution, potentially making it appealing for users who prefer smaller smartphones that are easier to use one-handed. The Reno 16 Pro, in contrast, is expected to offer a larger 6.78-inch OLED panel with LTPO technology for adaptive refresh rates, allowing smoother visuals while improving power efficiency.
Under the hood, OPPO could equip the Reno 16 Pro with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset alongside a massive 7,000mAh battery. With this chipset, the Reno 16 Pro would compete against the POCO X8 Pro Max, which is known for its performance. The standard Reno 16 is tipped to run on the Dimensity 8550 chipset with a slightly smaller 6,700mAh battery. Even so, the smartphone should still give enough juice to last an entire day without needing to charge.
Charging speeds are expected to remain at 80W wired fast charging across the lineup, while the Pro variant may additionally support 50W wireless charging. If accurate, that would give the Reno 16 Pro an advantage over many rivals in this category.
The Reno 16 series may feature a triple rear camera setup headlined by a 200MP Samsung HP5 primary sensor. OPPO is also tipped to include a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, which could significantly improve zoom photography.
Like the previous Reno phones, the Reno 16 lineup appears to place stronger emphasis on design, portrait photography and battery endurance rather than purely benchmark-focused performance. Users who prefer compact phones without sacrificing premium features could find the standard Reno 16 particularly appealing. On the other hand, the Reno 16 Pro appears aimed at users who want a more complete flagship-style experience with a larger display, wireless charging and potentially stronger camera hardware.
