OPPO is expected to launch the Reno 16 series globally soon. The Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro recently debuted in China, and now the lineup is slated to launch in global markets. In addition to the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro, another model is tipped to launch globally, dubbed Reno 16 FS or Reno 16F. In India, OPPO is tipped to launch the Reno 16 series in July, and now 91mobiles has received new information about a Reno 16c launching too. This smartphone will share similar specifications with the Reno 16F.
OPPO Reno 16c India launch details
According to information shared by tipster Yogesh Brar, OPPO is bringing the Reno 16 and Reno 16c smartphones to India. We already know about the Reno 16, so the 16c would be a new addition to the lineup. Not entirely new, though, as the Reno 15 lineup also has a Reno 15c model, which is the most affordable one in the series.
The OPPO Reno 15c in India is said to share similar specifications with the Reno 16F. It would also be bigger in size compared to the Reno 16, which has a compact 6.32-inch display.
Since we had already leaked the Reno 16F’s specifications, it gives us an idea of what to expect from the Reno 16c. The handset could feature a larger 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the phone could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
The rear camera setup is said to include a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. A 50MP selfie camera is tipped as well. The Reno 16c may house a 6,500mAh battery with 45W SuperVOOC charging. Instead of using an aluminium frame like the Reno 16, the 16c could launch with a plastic one. The handset is also expected to come with an IP69 protection, stereo speakers, and NFC.
OPPO may follow a similar strategy with the Reno 16 series as it did with the Reno 15 lineup for India. This is launching the Reno 16c as an affordable alternative to the pricier Reno 15 but with a larger display and slightly weaker specs. But if the leak stays true, the Reno 16c could bring upgraded cameras over the Reno 15c, especially with the 3.5x telephoto lens.
Based on the details so far, the Reno 16c is shaping up to be a capable mid-range phone with versatile cameras, dependable performance, and a sizeable battery. If these are your priorities, then the Reno 16c could be worth waiting for. But we should still wait for official details and reviews to see how it compares to the Reno 15 lineup, especially in terms of upgrades.
