Geekbench

POCO X6 Pro (L) iQOO Neo 7 (R)

The POCO X6 Pro manages to outperform the iQOO Neo 7 by a significant margin in the Geekbench test, evaluating CPU performance. The POCO smartphone achieves better scores than its counterpart in both single-core and multi-core tests. This should ideally mean that the POCO X6 Pro will offer superior performance in handling both casual and demanding tasks compared to the iQOO Neo 7.

AnTuTu

POCO X6 Pro (L) iQOO Neo 7 (R)

AnTuTu evaluates the overall performance of the smartphone, including CPU, GPU, MEM, and UX. Here again, the POCO X6 Pro beats the iQOO Neo 7 with an overall score of 12,99,678 compared to the latter’s 9,27,698. The POCO smartphone wins in every single department, with the notable distinction in GPU, boasting more than twice its counterpart.

CPU Throttle

POCO X6 Pro (L) iQOO Neo 7 (R)

The POCO X6 Pro is also better than the iQOO Neo 7 at handling intense loads for a sustained period, per the CPU Throttle test. The iQOO smartphone throttles 60 percent of the peak performance while running 50 threads for half an hour during the test. The POCO X6 Pro, on the other hand, does remarkably well, maintaining 81 percent of its peak performance for the same threads and duration.

Gaming test

I tested the gaming performance by running the online battle royale game, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), on both smartphones. The game was played on each device with the highest available graphics and frame rate settings: ultra HDR and Ultra, respectively. As it turns out, the smartphones handled the game equally well with no lags or awkward freezes. While the gameplay was enjoyable on both smartphones, it looked relatively smoother on the POCO X6 Pro compared to its arch-rival.

The POCO X6 Pro and iQOO Neo 7 both employ a vapour chamber cooling system to dissipate heat when things get intense while gaming or multitasking. That said, the vapour chamber on the iQOO smartphone is half the size as that of the POCO smartphone. Despite the size difference, the iQOO handset did not become uncomfortably warm. The POCO X6 Pro also managed the heat well. However, it’s essential to consider the cold weather in Delhi as a contributing factor. Therefore, a conclusive verdict on this matter will be withheld for now.

Verdict

This concludes our POCO X6 Pro and iQOO Neo 7 performance comparison. We also did a battery comparison between the two smartphones. If you wish to give it a read, head on to our article titled – iQOO Neo 7 vs POCO X6 Pro battery comparison

As for this comparison, the new POCO smartphone manages to outclass last year’s gaming champion iQOO Neo 7. There is a substantial difference between the two smartphones’ performance, evident in the benchmarking and CPU Throttle test. The gaming looks more and less the same on both smartphones, but if you are looking for smoother gameplay, the POCO X6 Pro would be a better choice. The handset is selling in India at a starting price of Rs 26,999.

The iQOO Neo 7, on the other hand, is currently retailing for under Rs 25,000 and should be a worthwhile investment for anyone on a strict budget.
