Realme has expanded its popular number series in India with the launch of the Realme 16T, the most accessible model in the company’s Realme 16 series lineup. The handset brings a massive 8,000mAh battery, AI-backed camera tools, and a unique selfie mirror design. With the Realme 16T, the company appears to be doubling down on battery life and social photography in the mid-range segment.
Realme 16T price in India, availability
The Realme 16T starts at Rs 29,999 for the 6GB + 128GB model, while the 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB variants are priced at Rs 31,999 and Rs 34,999, respectively. The smartphone is currently available to pre-book via Flipkart and Realme’s online store. It comes in three colour options: Starlight Red, Starlight Black, and Aurora Green.

The Realme 16T follows the same overall design language as the rest of the Realme 16 lineup but introduces a slightly different visual identity of its own. One of the more unique additions is the “Selfie Mirror” feature placed on the rear panel, similar to the implementation seen on the Realme 16. The feature allows users to use the rear cameras for selfies and group shots instead of relying on the front camera, helping capture sharper and more detailed images.

Under the hood, the Realme 16T is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor. The chipset is designed for entry-level and budget 5G smartphones, focusing more on efficiency and balanced day-to-day performance rather than raw performance. At this price point, this chipset feels underwhelming compared to what rivals are offering.
The Realme 16T features a 50MP Sony AI rear camera backed by several software-driven imaging features. These include AI Popout, AI Portrait Glow, and the company’s LumaColor imaging engine. According to Realme, the camera system has been tuned to improve lighting balance, skin tones, and facial detail, particularly during portrait photography. It gets an auxiliary lens and a 16MP front camera. This setup seems quite basic and should be fine for casual photography. However, alternatives are offering at least an ultra-wide camera.
The Realme 16T appears targeted at buyers who value battery life, reliability, and everyday usability over raw performance numbers. Users upgrading from older budget phones could find the package appealing. However, the phone does lack in terms of performance and cameras, so alternatives might be a better fit if these are your priorities.
