Realme C100i India launch date revealed, along with key specs and Flipkart availability
After the C100x, Realme is gearing up to launch a new smartphone in its budget-oriented C-series lineup with the C100i. The OEM has teased the Realme C100i on Flipkart and confirmed that it is heading to India later this week. This comes after the Realme C100x price in India was increased due to component shortages, leaving the sub-Rs 15,000 segment void. The Realme C100i could fill that gap with a slightly smaller display. The Realme C100i will also boast a different design language than the C100x, which is currently selling in the country at Rs 16,999.

The Realme C100x is set to go on sale on August 27th, the Flipkart listing confirms. It’s going to be the same day that the smartphone’s price in India will also be revealed. The handset seems to be e-commerce exclusive and could come in a couple of colour options: silver and black. The official renders of the smartphone also confirm two individual camera rings at the back, a large plateau, and flat edges.
The Realme C100x confirmed specifications include a 120Hz refresh rate display. It’s likely to be a waterdrop-notch display instead of a more modern-looking punch-hole. Powering the display is going to be a 6,500mAh battery, which is said to retain its charge even after five years of use. The handset is also touted with a 36-month warranty coverage and an ArmorShell protection.

The remaining Realme C100i specifications are still under wraps. However, its alleged association with model number RMX5399 suggests that it could feature 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of storage. A handset bearing the same moniker has already debuted globally, but it appears to feature a different design from the teased Indian model and packs a larger 7,000mAh battery.
We will therefore have to wait for more details on the Realme C100i’s chipset, display size, camera hardware and other specifications in India. As mentioned earlier, the handset could be positioned below the Realme C100x in terms of pricing. If that is indeed the case, it could be priced under Rs 15,000.
Whether you should wait for this smartphone will depend on your requirements. If you are looking for a phone with a large battery and a smooth display experience, the Realme C100i could be worth considering. It will all come down to its chipset, whether it can overpower the existing budget smartphones, such as Lava Virat V1, which also offer similar battery capacities.
