The Realme Narzo 70 Pro and iQOO Z9 closely match each other both in terms of pricing and specifications. The handsets are available in India at a starting price of Rs 19,999. Additionally, they are equipped with 120Hz refresh rate AMOLED displays, 50MP primary cameras, 16MP front cameras, and 5,000mAh batteries. However, their chipsets are a bit different. The iQOO Z9 beats the Realme Narzo 70 Pro on the AnTuTu test with an overall score of 7,28,534 compared to 6,11,860. Except for MEM, the iQOO smartphone outperforms its counterpart in all departments, including CPU, GPU, and UX. The Realme Narzo 70 Pro returns with a higher MEM score, which means the handset possesses faster and higher memory capabilities than the iQOO Z9.
Geekbench
Moving on to the Geekbench scores, the iQOO Z9 achieves 1,190 in the single-core test and 2,681 in the multi-core test. In contrast, the Realme Narzo 70 Pro achieves a relatively lower 945 and 2,356 in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. This means the iQOO smartphone should handle casual and demanding tasks better than its arch rival.
CPU Throttle
The iQOO Z9 also throttles less under sustain loads. In the CPU Throttle test, the handset performed at 92 percent of its peak performance while running 50 threads for half an hour. This is marginally better than the Realme Narzo 70 Pro, which showcased 86 percent peak performance.
Gaming
When it comes to gaming, we tested the devices with BGMI set at HDR graphics settings. The iQOO Z9 offers superior performance than the Realme smartphone, which isn’t surprising given the benchmark scores. However, the difference only seems to be marginal.
To give you a perspective, the iQOO Z9 registered a temperature spike of roughly 7 degrees while the battery dropped by 6 percent after playing the game for half an hour. Conversely, the Realme Narzo 70 Pro saw a drop of 7 percent in battery life whereas its temperature shot up by approximately 8 percent.
Verdict
The iQOO Z9 clearly edges ahead of Realme Narzo 70 Pro in performance. With higher AnTuTu and Geekbench scores, along with better-sustained performance and gaming capabilities, the iQOO Z9 proves to be the superior choice for those seeking top-notch performance in a mid-range smartphone. However, the margin of difference in gaming performance and thermal management between the two devices is relatively small.
