Realme P1 5G vs POCO X6 Neo 5G performance comparison: one clear winner

Realme debuted the new P Series last week, with a key focus on performance and user experience. The vanilla model in the lineup, the Realme P1 5G, packs some serious heat with the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC, LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. These specifications are comparable to smartphones priced under Rs 20,000, and raise some expectations when it comes to the phone’s performance output. On that note, today we’ll be comparing the Realme P1 5G with another similarly priced smartphone, the POCO X6 Neo 5G, to find out which smartphone offers a superior performance output.

Before we begin, here are the key specifications of both smartphones:

Geekbench

First up, we evaluate both smartphones on the Geekbench 6 benchmark test, which tests the CPU performance of a smartphone. The Realme P1 registers scored 959 on the single-core test and 2390 on the multi-core test. The POCO X6 Neo, on the other hand, clocks a score of 759 on the single-core test and 1941 on the multi-core test. The Realme P1 wins the test, and this suggests the smartphone should offer better performance in both single-core and multi-core-based tasks compared to the POCO X6 Neo.

Winner: Realme P1 5G

AnTuTu

The AnTuTu benchmark test gauges the performance of a smartphone across various metrics, like its CPU, GPU, memory and user experience. The Realme P1 5G scores an impressive aggregate score of 6,02,920 on the AnTuTu test, while the POCO X6 Neo clocks an aggregate score of 4,45,887. The Realme P1 has a significant edge when it comes to both GPU and CPU scores, and also outperforms the POCO C6 Neo when it comes to user experience and Memory scores.

Winner: Realme P1 5G

Burnout Benchmark

To test the performance output under throttling, we ran Burnout Benchmark test on both smartphones. The Realme P1 5G registers a performance output of 76.7 percent under throttling, while the POCO X6 Neo clocks an output of 62.7 percent under throttling. The benchmark scores suggest that the Realme P1 should offer a better performance output under heavy stress.

Gaming test

For our gaming test, we played BGMI on both devices at similar graphical settings for roughly 30 minutes each. The Realme P1 5G is overall the better gaming device, and can support even HDR resolution in BGMI which the POCO X6 Neo does not support. It is also the case when we compare Call of Duty: Mobile, with Realme P1’s support for High resolution while the POCO X6 Neo is limited to just Medium resolution setting. The Realme P1 does marginally better than the POCO X6 Neo in terms of thermal management. After the gaming session, the Realme P1 registered a temperature rise of 5.2 degrees Celsius, compared to the POCO X6 Neo’s 5.8 degrees Celsius.

Winner: Realme P1 5G

Verdict

In our tests, the Realme P1 5G offers superior performance output in every aspect when compared to the POCO X6 Neo 5G. The Realme P1 5G offers consistently better results in both real-life tests, thermal management and synthetic benchmarks and is the superior device when it comes to performance.

If you prioritise performance when selecting a smartphone, the Realme P1 5G is the better choice compared to the POCO X6 Neo 5G. The POCO X6 Neo 5G, however, offers a higher resolution primary camera at 108MP, a higher 12GB RAM variant, and comes with a similar 120Hz AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection, which the Realme P1 5G lacks.
