What does the Realme P4 Lite 5G offer

Coming to the key specifications, the Realme P4 Lite 5G features a 6.8-inch (1570 × 720 resolution) HD+ IPS LCD screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 900 nits peak brightness. Given the price, the type of display on offer is standard across most smartphones released recently, such as the OPPO K14x and Samsung Galaxy M17e.

As noted in the intro, powering up the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, 6nm octa-core processor with up to 2.4GHz clock speeds and Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The processor is paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. While we’re yet to get our hands on the device, per our past experiences with Dimensity 6300, it should offer enough power for running casual tasks, such as WhatsApp, web browsing, video playback, etc. Then there’s the large 5,300mm² vapour chamber cooling system that should assist in keeping the phone’s temperatures on the cooler side, especially during peak summers.

For optics, the Realme P4 Lite 5G houses a 13MP primary rear camera and a 5MP front camera, both supporting up to 1080p 30fps video recording. Some of the key features within the camera app include AI Live Photo and Dual View Video to capture videos using both front and rear cameras simultaneously.

The phone comes with a 7,000mAh battery, a noticeable upgrade over Realme P4 Lite 4G’s 6,300mAh cell, and the largest capacity on offer under Rs 13,000. For charging, the phone comes with a 15W charger. On the software front, the handset runs on Android 16-based Realme UI 7. Lastly, to provide a durable build, Realme has equipped the P4 Lite 5G with an IP64 rating. The phone weighs 212g and is slim at 8.4mm.

Should you buy the Realme P4 Lite 5G over the competition?

Starting at Rs 12,999, the Realme P4 Lite 5G competes with the Samsung Galaxy M17e (Rs 13,999) and OPPO K14x (Rs 14,999) under Rs 15,000. All three smartphones are equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, which should result in similar performance across the board. The Realme P4 Lite 5G has an edge over the other two handsets in battery capacity, which should translate to great endurance in daily use, considering the budget chipset on offer.

However, if cameras and fast charging are your priorities, OPPO K14x’s 45W charging support and 50MP primary camera could offer better results compared to the Realme P4 Lite 5G, while the Galaxy M17e ups the stakes by promising six OS upgrades.
