Alleged Realme 17 Pro/Realme 17 Pro+ specifications leaked: MediaTek Dimensity 7500 SoC, 10,000mAh battery

Highlights
  • Realme 17 Pro specifications have been leaked.
  • The device in question could be the Realme 17 Pro+ too.
  • The biggest upgrades would be the battery, display refresh rate, and cameras.

The Realme 16 Pro series launched in India earlier this year, in January. Its successors are expected to launch soon, and news about them has already surfaced online. A new leak reveals what could be the Realme 17 Pro or Realme 17 Pro+. The leak reveals some impressive hardware details like a 165Hz display and a massive 10,000mAh battery. This would be a notable upgrade over the Realme 16 Pro series.

Realme 17 Pro/17 Pro+ specifications (expected)

According to tipster Gadgetsdata, the Realme 17 Pro or Realme 17 Pro+ will feature a 1.5K flat AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate. Realme would be moving to a curved screen from a flat one this time. The phone will support 120Hz for normal scrolling, while 165Hz will be reserved for some games. Powering the phone will be the MediaTek Dimensity 7500 SoC. Since the Realme 16 Pro uses the Dimensity 7300, this would bring performance improvements if the phone in question is the Realme 17 Pro.

The Realme 17 Pro series is also said to house a 10,000mAh battery, which would be a significant upgrade over the Realme 16 Pro lineup, which offers 7,000mAh. Realme appears to be doubling down on battery life, a growing trend in the mid-range segment.

For optics, the leak suggests a 200MP primary camera, a 50MP 3.5x telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide camera. The camera module design is said to be very close to the Realme 16 Pro+. If this is the Realme 17 Pro, then the camera setup would be an upgrade, as the 16 Pro+ doesn’t have a telephoto lens.

The upcoming Realme phone is also said to feature a plastic frame, which would be the same as the 16 Pro. But if it’s the Realme 17 Pro+, then it would be a downgrade, as the 16 Pro+ has an aluminium frame.

If we were to consider this phone as the Realme 17 Pro, then it would bring substantial upgrades over the Realme 16 Pro. However, if it’s the Realme 17 Pro+, then the upgrades would be limited to the battery capacity and the display refresh rate. If your current phone is more than two generations old, these rumoured specs suggest a compelling upgrade, but waiting for official confirmation is still wise. Current Realme 16 Pro users might find the battery and display refresh rate tempting, but should weigh the potential downgrade in frame material for the Pro model.
