Realme P4x launched in India with Dimensity 7400 Ultra, 7,000mAh battery, and up to 144Hz display

Hot on the heels of the Realme GT 8 Pro, Realme has unveiled the Realme P4x today in India, starting at Rs 15,999. Largely aimed at youngsters and mobile gamers, the handset is powered by the same MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra chipset found on the vanilla P4 but with a larger 7,000mAh battery housed within a sleek “Aerospace design”. With this move, the Realme P4x joins the ever-growing list of midrange smartphones that carry high-capacity batteries.

The Realme P4x will be available to purchase starting December 10th on Flipkart and Realme’s online store in multiple storage options: 6+128GB for Rs 15,999, 8+128GB for Rs 17,499, and 8+256GB for Rs 19,499. All three variants get UFS 3.1 storage, ensuring faster app loading and processing than the phone’s UFS 2.2 counterparts. As part of the launch offers, buyers can grab the P4x at a starting price of Rs 13,499 using bank discounts. Colour options of the Realme P4x include Matte Silver, Elegant Pink, and Lake Green.

As noted in the intro, the Realme P4x runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra, making it one of the most affordable phones to carry this chipset. Since Realme is going all-in on performance with its ‘P’ series, the company has bundled a large 5,300mm² vapour cooling chamber to help the processor deliver sustained gameplay and keep the temperatures in check. Per our testing of the Realme P4, the Dimensity 7400 Ultra delivers a score of 9,92,425 on AnTuTu (v11) benchmark, while in the Geekbench multi-core test it achieved 2,954.

Just like most smartphones under Rs 16,000, the Realme P4x gets a Full HD IPS LCD display. This panel measures 6.72 inches and supports a 120Hz refresh rate along with 1,000 nits of brightness. For an immersive viewing experience, the P4x features dual speakers, one on top and another towards the bottom of its 208g boxy design, completely made out of polycarbonate. Interestingly, the display can go up to 144Hz in certain scenarios, and popular titles like BGMI, Mobile Legends, and CODM can run at 90FPS.

Flipping the phone over, the metallic pill-shaped camera deco encompasses a 50MP primary camera and a 2MP monochromatic sensor, while an 8MP front camera sits in the punch-hole cutout of the display. The phone can record videos in up to 4K 30FPS resolution, and users can also take advantage of the multiple AI imaging offers, such as AI Eraser, AI Motion Deblur, AI Glare Remover, and AI Landscape 2.0, along with Google’s standard AI offerings, namely Circle to Search and Gemini.

AI features are also sprinkled over system apps, like Notes, Sound Recorder, and Game Assistant, which deploy AI Writing, AI Recording, and AI Gaming Coach, respectively. Even though Android 16 has been out for quite a while now, the Realme P4x boots on the Android 15-based Realme UI 6 skin with assured two OS upgrades and three years of security updates.

Powering all the above-mentioned features is a 7,000mAh battery, which Realme claims can charge the P4x from 1 to 100 percent in 90 minutes with the bundled 45W charger. Since the battery is so large, the handset can charge other devices through reverse wired charging. Much like other Realme phones released in the past, the handset has bypass charging, which directly passes the current to the motherboard during charging to preserve battery health.

At the launch price of Rs 15,999, the Realme P4x rivals the likes of the newly released Moto G57 Power and Moto G67 Power, while also giving a fight to popular names in the segment, such as Vivo T4x and Lava Play Ultra. For users on a limited budget with gaming as their top priority, the P4x’s Dimensity 7400 Ultra and 7,000mAh battery combination could offer an enjoyable day-to-day experience for the price.
