Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy M17e launch in India on March 17th. Additionally, a microsite is already live on Amazon.in, revealing its key specifications of the smartphone. While the pricing has not been officially announced yet, a popular tipster, Sanju Chaudhary, claims that the smartphone could cost Rs 13,999 in India. This would position it as a budget offering targeted at users looking for a big-battery phone, backed by Samsung’s long-term software commitment, in the sub-Rs 15,000 segment.

Samsung Galaxy M17e specifications

The Amazon.in listing reveals the Samsung Galaxy M17e will be segment’s longest video playback time of up to 26 hours, with its 6,000mAh battery. Moreover, it’ll come with six years of software update, keeping the smartphone relevant until 2032, which is the longest for any smartphone within the segment. At its core will lie MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC, which is rated to support the 120Hz refresh rate to offer smoothest experience in the segment, per the company.

Samsung has compared the Galaxy M17e with other smartphones in the Rs 14,000 segment to back many of these segment-leading claims. This suggests that the leaked pricing of the smartphone could indeed be true.

Other specifications of the Samsung Galaxy M17e include a dual-rear camera setup with 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP macro sensor. The front camera is going to be an 8MP sensor in the punch-hole setup for selfies and video calling. The handset will be built around a 6.7-inch HD+ display and measure just 8.2mm in thickness. The back panel will have a glass fibre reinforced polymer, and the handset itself will be IP54 splash and dust resistance ceritied.

Software-wise, the Samsung Galaxy M17e will run One UI 8 based on Android 16 and offer support for text, image, and music Search, along with Knox Security and Samsung Wallet. The phone will sport a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security. Its will be a 5G capable smartphone, with support for as many as 12 bands. Last but not least, the Samsung Galaxy M17e will be available Blitz Blue and Vibe Violet.

That’s all we know about the smartphone for now. Stay tuned to 91mobiles for our Samsung Galaxy M17e review. If the specifications are anything to go by, you may find more powerful alternatives in the segment, such as the Realme C83, which packs a 7,000mAh battery, and the Moto G57 Power, which offers a more capable chipset. However, the Samsung Galaxy M17e could still be a valuable buy for its software support and long video playback endurance.
