Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series could be debuting a little later than expected this year
Samsung’s next flagship launch is starting to come into focus, with new leaks pointing to a late-February debut for the Galaxy S26 series and sales kicking off in March. If the information holds up, it gives buyers an idea of when Samsung’s next premium phones will arrive.
Tipster Ice Universe claims Samsung is planning its next Galaxy Unpacked event for February 25th. That’s when the company is expected to take the wraps off the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. Pre-orders are said to open almost immediately after the event, likely running from February 26th through early March, followed by a short pre-sale period. Full retail availability is tipped to begin around March 11th, starting with South Korea, while markets like India may see slightly different timelines.

The dates line up with what other sources have been saying. Tipster Evan Blass has previously called the February 25th launch date “locked in,” and similar timelines have been doing the rounds since late last year. If Samsung sticks to this plan, it would mark a minor change from its usual flagship schedule. The Galaxy S-series has typically launched a bit earlier, with reports suggesting the shift this year is tied to internal adjustments to the product lineup.
Hardware leaks suggest the Galaxy S26 and S26+ will follow Samsung’s familiar regional chip strategy, using either the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or the 2nm Exynos 2600 depending on the market, with India expected to get the Exynos versions. Both phones are tipped to ship with 12GB RAM, Android 16 with One UI 8.5, smooth 120Hz LTPO AMOLED displays, IP68-rated designs, and triple rear cameras headlined by a 50MP sensor.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra, meanwhile, is expected to use the Snapdragon chip globally and offer higher RAM and storage options, a larger display, a bigger battery, and upgraded cameras. That would pit it against Apple’s iPhone Pro models, as well as premium Android rivals from Xiaomi, Vivo and OPPO.
For buyers, the March sales window is likely to come with early pre-order bonuses, trade-in deals, and bank offers. Those upgrading from older Galaxy phones may find launch-period deals the most attractive, while recent upgraders may be better off waiting a few weeks for prices and bundles to settle.
