Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra gets a notch

We are pretty sure we’re not looking at an upcoming iPad Pro. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will indeed sport a small notch. The notch is not for any Face ID-like tech but simply to offer some room for the front camera. The bezels around the display are quite slim, so a notch was apparently necessary to house the selfie camera.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra features a 14.6-inch display, Steve tells us. The Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8+ will offer 11-inch and 12.4-inch displays, respectively. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra renders also reveal dual rear cameras in a pill-shaped camera module and a magnetic strip for the S Pen. The 360-degree images reveal quad speakers and a Type-C port. There’s no headphone jack.

We are told that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra renders are not 100 percent complete, which explains the lack of magnetic connectors on the left side of the frame, among other things. But this is largely what the upcoming high-end tablet from Samsung will look like. It measures roughly 325.8 x 207.9 x 5.4mm. This makes it taller and slimmer than the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is likely the only tablet among the three to sport a notch display. We are yet to see what the Galaxy Tab S8+ looks like, but we know what the vanilla Tab S8 will offer in terms of design through renders provided by Zouton. As far as availability is concerned, your guess is as good as ours. The Galaxy Tab S8 series was expected to launch at the Unpacked Part 2 event earlier this week, but that didn’t happen. The tablets could arrive in November or December unless the global chip shortage forces Samsung to delay the launch until 2022.
