Samsung reportedly hikes prices of multiple smartphones in India: check revised prices

Highlights
  • Smartphones from Samsung’s Galaxy F-series and M-series have been affected.
  • Prices have been hiked by up to Rs 1,500.
  • This isn’t the first time Samsung has increased the prices of its existing phones.

Samsung has reportedly increased the prices of several Galaxy smartphones in India. The revised pricing came into effect on March 5th, 2026, and impacts devices across Samsung’s budget and mid-range lineup, including the Galaxy M36, Galaxy F36, and Galaxy M17 5G. The information about the price revision comes from tipster Abhishek Yadav, who shared an image listing the updated pricing details for several Samsung smartphones.

Price hikes among new and existing smartphones have been a common occurrence over the past few months owing to increasing component costs. Samsung might be facing the brunt of this too, seeing how its smartphones are now costlier. This is also not the first time Samsung has revised prices recently, as the company had earlier increased the prices of devices such as the Galaxy F36, Galaxy A36, and Galaxy F17 5G. The F17 is mentioned in this list too, so it could be the same price hike revealed earlier.

According to the latest details, the Galaxy M36 has received a modest price increase. The 8GB + 128GB variant now costs Rs 21,999, which is Rs 500 higher than before, while the 8GB + 256GB model now costs Rs 25,999, reflecting a Rs 1,500 increase. The Galaxy M36 now sits in a different price category altogether, as it was earlier under Rs 20,000. This might put the Galaxy M36 and Samsung as a brand at a disadvantage when compared to rivals.

A similar revision has been applied to the Galaxy F36, which now also starts at Rs 21,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model, representing a Rs 500 hike. The 8GB + 256GB variant now costs Rs 25,999, which is Rs 1,500 more than its previous price.

Samsung has also raised prices for the Galaxy M17 5G. The 6GB + 128GB variant now costs Rs 16,499, which is Rs 500 higher, while the 8GB + 128GB version is now priced at Rs 18,499, marking a Rs 1,000 increase.

Other devices in Samsung’s budget lineup have also reportedly seen price adjustments. The Galaxy F17 5G is said to have received a price hike of up to Rs 1,000, while the Galaxy A17 5G could see an increase of up to Rs 3,000 depending on the variant. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A06 5G is said to have become up to Rs 1,500 more expensive.

The exact revised prices for some variants of the Samsung Galaxy F17 5G, Galaxy A17 5G, and Samsung Galaxy A06 5G may vary depending on the configuration and retailer listings.

Alongside Samsung’s price revision, there are indications that OPPO could also follow. Smartphones such as the OPPO A6 Pro, OPPO A6x, and OPPO Reno 15C are also expected to see price hikes soon, although an official confirmation is still awaited. If that happens, it could indicate broader pricing adjustments across the smartphone market, particularly in the budget and mid-range segments.

Anyone planning to purchase a Samsung smartphone, the latest price hike means some devices in the Galaxy M and Galaxy F series now cost slightly more than before. While the increase is relatively small in most cases, it might make sense to purchase them now before they see another price hike.

If you were already considering devices like the Galaxy M36 or Galaxy F36, it may still be worth checking bank discounts, festive offers, or online sale deals that can offset the price hike. It’s also advised to compare alternatives from competing brands, as pricing adjustments across multiple brands could reshape value-for-money options in this segment.
