Google is expected to unveil the Pixel Watch 5 alongside the Pixel 11 series on August 12th, and a new leak has revealed nearly everything about the upcoming smartwatch ahead of the announcement. The leaked marketing materials detail its specifications, colour options, pricing for multiple markets, and expected availability.

While the design appears largely unchanged, the Pixel Watch 5 is tipped to bring several upgrades including more storage, a larger battery, Wear OS 7 out of the box, and new AI-powered features built around Google’s Gemini platform.

Google Pixel Watch 5 specifications (expected)

According to the leak, the Pixel Watch 5 will be available in 41mm and 45mm sizes, with both Wi-Fi and LTE variants. It is expected to retain the Snapdragon Wear W5 Gen 2 chipset used in the Pixel Watch 4, while doubling onboard storage from 32GB to 64GB.

The smartwatch is also said to feature slightly larger batteries, with a 332mAh cell in the 41mm model and a 465mAh battery in the 45mm version. Despite the increase, Google is reportedly claiming the same battery life as before, up to 30 hours on the smaller model and 40 hours on the larger variant. Other expected features include Wear OS 7, IP68 dust and water resistance, a 5ATM rating for swimming, Bluetooth 6, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, UWB, and dual-frequency GPS with support for Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou, and QZSS.

On the health front, the watch is tipped to offer heart rate, SpO2, ECG, skin temperature, skin conductance, and sleep tracking, alongside an altimeter, barometer, and compass. It is also expected to include Google’s loss of pulse detection feature, which can automatically contact emergency services if required. Buyers will reportedly receive two years of Satellite SOS support at no additional cost.

The leak also points to Gemini Intelligence as one of the smartwatch’s main additions, bringing proactive AI assistance similar to what is expected on the Pixel 11 series.

Pricing

The leaked marketing material suggests Google will begin Pixel Watch 5 pre-orders immediately after its expected August 12th announcement, with sales starting around August 20th. Pricing for the US, UK, and Europe has surfaced in the past, although an India launch and pricing remain unconfirmed.

  • 41mm Wi-Fi model: EUR 419 / USD 399 (around Rs 45,600)
  • 41mm LTE version: EUR 519 / USD 499 (around Rs 56,500)
  • 45mm Wi-Fi model: EUR 449 / USD 429 (around Rs 48,900)
  • 45mm LTE version: EUR 549 / USD 529 (around Rs 57,600)

Compared with the Pixel Watch 4, the upgrades appear focused on usability with more storage, newer software, additional safety features, and AI capabilities taking precedence. The watch is expected to compete with premium offerings such as the Samsung Galaxy Watch series and Apple’s Watch lineup, where AI features, health tracking and ecosystem integration are important differentiators.

For buyers already considering a premium Wear OS smartwatch, the Pixel Watch 5 could be worth waiting for if Gemini-powered features, expanded storage, and Google’s latest software experience are priorities. Those looking primarily for faster performance, however, may want to see how the unchanged chipset performs before making a decision.
