The original game was called Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, and Nintendo notes that the remake will be available later this year.
Super Mario RPG was Mario's first foray into the world of RPGs. Keep in mind that this character has been a part of platformers, racing games, fighting games, sports games and more. The game was a turn-based RPG and gameplay was very similar to other franchises such as Final Fantasy. It is also one of the few games that see Mario work together with his arch-nemesis, Bowser.
Super Mario RPG will be available from November 17th, 2023 onwards. However, those interested can go ahead and pre-order the game. The digital version of the game is priced at $59.99 (approx. Rs 4,900) on the Nintendo eShop.
Aside from Super Mario RPG, Nintendo had a bunch of other games to showcase during the event. This includes Detective Pikachu Returns, a cinematic adventure where players are set to solve cases with Pikachu. There is also a new instalment in the long-running WarioWare series called WarioWare: Move it. It also unveiled new details of its upcoming game, Pikmin 4.
Aside from this, a number of third-party developers also showcased their upcoming titles for the Nintendo Switch. This included Batman: Arkham Trilogy, Palia, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, and Personal 5 Tactica. You can learn more about the announcements here.
