Top phones launching in October 2023: Redmi Note 13, OnePlus Open, Realme GT 5 Pro and more

After the busy month of September, which witnessed the unveiling of new iPhones and many other significant launches, the tech community is gearing up for October (which is popularly called Techtober). The month already started on a high note with the Pixel 8 lineup, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE and the Vivo V29 series but that’s not it as we have a few more notable announcements lineup for the month. In this article today, we will look into the smartphones that are expected to launch in October 2023.

Top phones launching in October 2023

OnePlus Open

OnePlus Open will be the brand’s first foldable offering across the globe. The handset will be identical to the OPPO Find N3, as confirmed by the brand recently. The foldable is also expected to launch in India, in addition to global markets. Here are the expected specifications.

  • Display: 7.82-inch AMOLED main display with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper and probably a 120Hz refresh rate. There could be a 6.31-inch cover screen.
  • Processor: The foldable could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
  • Memory: The phone could pack up to 24GB of RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
  • Software: The phone is likely to run on Android 13-based ColorOS 13.1 in China and OxygenOS 13 in other markets.
  • Cameras: OnePlus Open is likely to feature a 50MP primary camera, a 48MP ultrawide snapper, and a 64MP periscope telephoto module. For selfies and video calls, there might be a 32MP shooter. 
  • Battery: There could be a 4,520mAh battery with 100W charging support. There could be wireless charging support as well.

OPPO Find N3 Flip

Launch date: October 12th

The OPPO Find N3 Flip originally debuted in August as a successor to the Find N2 Flip. The company is now gearing up to launch in India and other global markets. The handset is already listed online and is expected to have the same specifications as the original version.

  • Display: The OPPO Find N3 Flip has a 6.80-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. We also see a 3.26-inch AMOLED cover display. 
  • Chipset: The handset is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC paired with Mali-G715 Immortalis MP11 GPU.
  • RAM and Storage: Up to 16GB RAM and 512GB internal storage.
  • OS: The Find N3 Flip runs on Android 13-based ColorOS 13.1 custom skin out of the box.
  • Cameras: The foldable phone features a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 32MP telephoto sensor. There is a 32MP front camera for selfies and video chats.
  • Battery: OPPO Find N3 Flip packs a 4,300mAh battery with 44W fast charging support.

OnePlus Ace 3

OnePlus is apparently gearing up to launch a new Ace series phone in China. The handset in question is the OnePlus Ace 3 and this will succeed the OnePlus Ace 2. Recent rumours have reportedly revealed the key hardware specifications of the phone.

  • Display: The OnePlus Ace 3 is tipped to flaunt a 6.74-inch OLED display with curved edges, punch-hole cutout, 120Hz refresh rate, and PWM dimming support.
  • Processor: The phone is tipped to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
  • Memory: The chipset could be paired with up to 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. 
  • Battery: The phone could house a 5,500mAh battery with 100W charging support.
  • Software: The OnePlus Ace 3 is likely to boot Android-14 based ColorOS 14 in China.
  • Cameras: The OnePlus Ace 3 rear camera setup could include a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor, an 8MP ultrawide OmniVision OV8D10 sensor and a 32MP Sony IMX709 telephoto sensor with up to 2x optical zoom. There could be a 16MP selfie shooter on the front.

Realme GT 5 Pro

Launch date not officially announced yet.

Realme GT 5 Pro could be the next big flagship from the brand. The handset will house a telephoto sensor, according to the teaser image shared by the brand. There are speculations that the phone will launch in China this month.

  • Display: Realme GT 5 Pro is expected to feature an FHD+ OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole cutout.
  • Processor: The handset is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset but can’t be said for certain just yet.
  • RAM and Storage: Up to 24GB RAM and 1TB storage options.
  • OS: The Realme phone is likely to run on Android 13-Realme UI 5.0 custom skin out of the box.
  • Cameras: The handset might feature a periscope camera with 3x optical zoom, which could be the OmniVision OV64B 64MP sensor.
  • Fast charging: The phone could feature at least 240W fast charging support.

Redmi Note 13 series

Global launch date not officially announced yet.

Redmi Note 13 series launched in China last month and is expected to debut globally later this month. We can expect an announcement for India as well. The lineup includes three models: the Redmi Note 13, Note 13 Pro, and Note 13 Pro+.
