The Vivo S2 appears to borrow styling cues from the Vivo X300 FE, featuring a pill-shaped horizontal rear camera module and a curved display. Leaked renders also show the handset in all three expected colourways. The phone will feature a 3D curved display, with its “flagship-level design” and camera module being teased as the key selling points. The Vivo S2 could be the brand’s way of bringing flagship design in the more accessible mid-range segment.
The smartphone is expected to feature a 6.59-inch AMOLED display, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera, and a 7,000mAh battery. The Vivo S2 will also support 4K video recording on the front and back. If these specifications are accurate, the Vivo S2 could stand out in its segment by offering a combination of a large battery and a periscope camera for zoom photography. This would give the Vivo S2 an edge over rivals with a more versatile camera setup.
The Vivo S2 is also tipped to use the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 chipset. The same chipset can be found in the Vivo V70 FE and the previous-generation Vivo V60e. This suggests capable mid-range performance for everyday tasks, which we’ll know about more when the phone debuts.
In terms of pricing, the Vivo S2 could be placed between Rs 38,000 and Rs 45,000, based on leaks and speculation. This would put the S2 below the Vivo V70 series. The Vivo S2 could be worth waiting for if battery life, photography, and premium design are high on the priority list. However, since all details remain based on leaks, prospective buyers should wait for Vivo’s official announcement before making a purchase decision.
