Highlights
  • Vivo T5 Pro is expected to launch in India this month.
  • It’s confirmed to pack a 9,020mAh battery.
  • The smartphone is also teased to feature a slim design.

Vivo has officially teased the launch of the Vivo T5 Pro in India, shortly after it was leaked. This new handset will succeed last year’s Vivo T4 Pro, which has been quite popular in its segment. Its successor might already make waves in one area — battery. The Vivo T5 Pro is confirmed to pack a 9,020mAh battery. It’s also teased to be the slimmest phone with this battery capacity. That might give it an edge over other phones with similar battery capacities, as the Vivo T5 Pro would stand out for its slim design.

9,020mAh battery and 120FPS gaming

The standout highlight of the Vivo T5 Pro is its massive 9,020mAh battery, a significant jump even by current standards, where most phones in this segment hover between 5,000mAh and 7,000mAh. Interestingly, Vivo is pairing this with a slim design, suggesting the use of newer battery technologies like silicon-carbon cells to maintain a manageable form factor.

The company has also confirmed 120FPS gaming support, indicating a focus on smoother gameplay and better touch responsiveness.

While the company has only confirmed a few headline features so far, leaks are already painting a fairly complete picture of what to expect.

Display upgrade expected

Leaks suggest the Vivo T5 Pro could feature a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. If true, this would mark a clear upgrade over the previous generation, which topped out at 120Hz. In practical terms, users can expect smoother scrolling and animations and a more immersive experience for gaming and media consumption.

Under the hood, the Vivo T5 Pro is tipped to be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, replacing the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 seen on its predecessor. This suggests a modest but meaningful performance improvement, particularly in efficiency and sustained workloads. It should comfortably handle everyday multitasking, casual to moderate gaming, social media, and streaming.

On the camera front, the phone is expected to feature a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary sensor. While the resolution remains similar to the previous model, the shift in sensor hints at better image processing, improved low-light performance, and more consistent results rather than a major hardware leap.

The Vivo T5 Pro is also expected to retain IP68 and IP69 ratings, offering strong resistance against dust and water.

Vivo T5 Pro expected pricing

The Vivo T5 Pro is tipped to be priced just above Rs 30,000 and under Rs 35,000, placing it in the highly competitive upper mid-range segment. It’s definitely a price compared to the T4 Pro, which launched at Rs 27,999. But the hike is understandable considering the current scenario in the smartphone industry due to a surge in component pricing.

The Vivo T5 Pro looks like a strong option if you want exceptional battery life without compromising on design, prefer a high refresh rate display for gaming and smooth usage, and need a balanced phone rather than a performance-first device. However, if you’re a power user, you might want to check other options. But the Vivo T5 Pro is definitely worth waiting for.
