Vivo has given its V60 series a quiet refresh elsewhere, even as it prepares to launch the V70 series in India. The company has listed a new version of the Vivo V60 Lite in Panama, but this isn’t a brand-new device, as it was already launched last year. Why is it important? The new Vivo V60 Lite is the first phone to ship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 processor. As for India, there is currently no V60 Lite variant in the lineup. Given that the V60 series itself is from last year, and with the V70 series now around the corner, it may be premature to expect this refreshed model to make its way to the country. For now, this appears to be a market-specific update rather than a signal of a broader rollout.
The refreshed Vivo V60 Lite has been listed in Panama with the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 chipset, which replaces the Snapdragon 685 that powered the earlier 4G variant launched in markets such as Turkey. The Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 is positioned as an efficiency-focused chip aimed at balancing everyday performance with better power management.
Beyond the processor swap, the rest of the V60 Lite’s spec sheet reads almost identically to the previous model. The device retains its 6.77-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an optical in-display fingerprint sensor. On the imaging front, the phone sticks with a 50MP primary camera paired with an 8MP ultra-wide lens. A 32MP selfie shooter handles front-facing duties.
Battery life remains one of the headline features. The Vivo V60 Lite houses a 6,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging support. Vivo claims a full charge can be achieved in under an hour. There’s also 6W reverse wired charging, a small but useful addition for topping up accessories.
The refreshed V60 Lite ships with Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15, which should be upgraded to OriginOS 6 soon. The phone also carries IP65 certification for dust and water resistance, alongside MIL-STD-810H compliance for durability.
The Panama listing confirms black and blue color options for this updated model, though pricing has yet to be revealed. The smartphone seems targeted at markets where affordability and battery life matter more for buyers. If priced aggressively, the refreshed V60 Lite could be a compelling option for buyers prioritising battery life, fast charging, and display quality over raw performance and 5G connectivity. However, users looking for gaming-focused performance and faster connectivity may find better value in alternatives.
As for its India launch, there’s no word on whether the V60 Lite will arrive here or not. Since the V70 series is set to debut here, it would be unusual for a V60 model to arrive now. But Vivo did launch the X200T smartphone after the X300 series, so it might just follow a similar strategy.
