Vivo looks set to refresh its V-series lineup in India with the launch of the V70 and V70 Elite next month. According to a report citing tipster Yogesh Brar, the phones are expected to arrive in mid-February, with prices likely to stay under Rs 55,000, which is in line with previous reports. That places the V70 series a notch above the current V60 models that launched under Rs 50,000, and closer to sub-flagship pricing.
Smartprix has also shared the first render of the V70 Elite in Black. The design appears to use a glass-and-metal build with slim bezels and a clean, understated look. The regular Vivo V70 is expected in Passion Red and Lemon Yellow, while the V70 Elite adds Sand Beige and Black. It’s a bolder palette than what many competing phones in this segment offer.
Both phones are tipped to feature a 6.59-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. That’s standard for this price range now, and the real difference between the two models is performance. The V70 Elite is expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which would be a clear step up from what the V-series has traditionally offered. The standard V70, meanwhile, is said to use the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, the same chip found in the Vivo V60 5G. This makes the V70 feel more like an incremental update, while the Elite, as the name suggests, is positioned as the more interesting option for users who want extra headroom.
Cameras continue to be central to the V-series formula. Both models are expected to ship with a triple rear camera setup featuring a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP 3x ZEISS telephoto camera. Vivo is also sticking with India-specific camera features like AI Holi Festive Portrait mode, AI Magic Weather, and Flower Blessing. These additions focus more on software tuning and local use cases than pushing new hardware.
Battery life looks unchanged, but that isn’t necessarily a downside. Both phones are tipped to pack a 6,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging, the same setup that worked well on the V60 series. However, compared to competition like the OnePlus 15R, this may feel like it’s on the lower end. On the software side, the V70 lineup is expected to ship with OriginOS 6, moving away from Funtouch OS and bringing a slightly different look and feature set.
The Vivo V60 series launched in August 2025 with a focus on slim design, ZEISS cameras, and dependable battery life, priced under Rs 40,000. The V70 series seems to build on that base while nudging performance and pricing upward, keeping up with the recent trend of hiked prices. Buyers who mainly care about cameras and design may still find strong value in discounted V60 models, but those looking for a faster phone without jumping to a full flagship may find the V70 Elite the more sensible upgrade, if Vivo keeps the pricing in check.
