Vivo V80 has been officially teased to launch in India soon. The announcement comes shortly after it was spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification platform, alongside another Vivo smartphone, speculated to be the Vivo S2 FE. Vivo V80 would launch as the successor to the V70, while the Vivo S2 FE is expected to arrive as an affordable alternative to the Vivo S2.
Vivo V80 specifications (expected)
The Vivo V80 is tipped to launch in the first week of October. It’s tipped to offer camera-centric features, which have usually been the focus for Vivo’s V series phones. The Vivo V80 could launch with an AI Creative Camera mode, offering over 30 AI effects, and a Live Sticker Collage feature, possibly for creating collages using Live Photos and stickers. Another highlight for the Vivo V80 could be that it will run on OriginOS 7-based Android 17 out of the box. This would make it the first Vivo phone with this software.
The Vivo V80 is also expected to house a 7,200mAh battery, which would be a notable upgrade over the V70’s 6,500mAh battery. This means we can expect stronger battery endurance on the V80.
Vivo hasn’t revealed any details about the V80 yet, but it has teased the phone to offer AI camera features, upgraded low-light photography, the biggest battery in a V-series phone, and the smoothest display yet. The smartphone’s design has also been teased, which shows a large camera plateau at the back and Zeiss branding.
As for the Vivo S2 FE, it’s speculated that the phone could launch as a rebranded Vivo V80 Lite. If so, then we can expect a 10,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. This would be the largest battery capacity on a Vivo phone in India. It could also launch with a 6.84-inch 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED display, the MediaTek Dimensity 7300e chipset, a 50MP rear camera, and a 32MP front camera. The rumored 10,000mAh battery for the S2 FE is an aggressive move that could truly set it apart in the mid-range segment.
Based on what we know so far, the Vivo V80 will sit in the more premium segment, catering to buyers who want a camera-focused phone with AI features. If you’re currently using a V-series phone older than the V70 and prioritize camera and battery, the V80 could be a significant upgrade worth waiting for. The Vivo S2 FE could appeal more to those who want a large battery on a mid-range device.
