Vivo’s next foldable launch is just around the corner and the company is steadily revealing more details about the Vivo X Fold 6. Ahead of its official debut in China on June 26th, the company has shared a teaser video showcasing the phone in multiple colour options while also highlighting its key features.
The teaser confirms that the Vivo X Fold 6 will be available in Blue Hole, Salt Lake, and Polar Night colour options. A special Black Gold Edition with gold accents will also be offered. The video reconfirms support for the telephoto converter accessory, suggesting Vivo is continuing to market the foldable as a photography-focused flagship.
One of the biggest upgrades appears to be battery capacity. Vivo’s product manager Han Boxiao has confirmed that the X Fold 6 will pack a 7,000mAh battery, making it one of the largest batteries seen in a premium foldable smartphone. For context, the OPPO Find N6 packs a 6,000mAh battery. According to the company, the X Fold 6 can deliver up to 9.8 hours of heavy-use battery life, which is claimed to be around 30 percent better than its predecessor, the Vivo X Fold 5.
The company has additionally confirmed IPX8 and IPX9 water-resistance ratings, an upgraded hinge mechanism, and an enhanced communication system featuring new Wi-Fi and signal amplification antennas.
Beyond design and battery, Vivo previously revealed key hardware details. The X Fold 6 will feature an 8.02-inch foldable display with a claimed peak brightness of 5,000 nits. Under the hood, the device will be powered by a special-edition MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset and run OriginOS 6 Fold, the specialised, foldable-first version of Vivo’s operating system..
On the camera front, the foldable is confirmed to feature a 200MP primary sensor based on Samsung’s 1/1.4-inch HPB sensor. It will also include a Zeiss APO-certified periscope telephoto camera using Sony’s LYT-602 sensor. Vivo is continuing its strategy of bringing flagship-grade imaging hardware to the foldable segment, where the current segment leaders are Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold and Flip lineup.
While Vivo hasn’t announced India availability yet, an Indian launch appears likely. The brand entered India’s premium foldable segment with the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro in 2024 and followed it up with the Vivo X Fold 5 in July 2025. The outgoing model launched at Rs 1,49,999.
If the Vivo X Fold 6 reaches India, buyers can expect it to compete with premium foldables from Samsung, Google and OPPO. Those considering a foldable may want to wait for official pricing and software details, but on paper, the larger battery and upgraded camera hardware could make the X Fold 6 one of the more compelling options in the category.
