OPPO is gearing up to launch a smartphone with a massive 10,000mAh battery. The company has confirmed that the OPPO A7 Pro Max will debut in China next week, following the recent announcement that the handset will pack a massive 10,000mAh battery. This would be the largest battery capacity yet on an OPPO phone.

OPPO A7 Pro Max launch date

The OPPO A7 Pro Max is scheduled to launch in China on August 4th. Pre-orders for the smartphone are already open through OPPO’s official online store. There’s no word on a global release for the OPPO A7 Pro Max yet.

The battery is undoubtedly going to be the biggest differentiator for the A7 Pro Max, particularly as smartphone makers increasingly focus on larger batteries to improve endurance. A 10,000mAh cell would put the phone well above the 7,000mAh batteries commonly found in mid-range smartphones, although real-world endurance will ultimately depend on the display, chipset, and software optimisation. While a 10,000mAh battery is impressive, we’re keen to see if OPPO can balance this with a manageable form factor and competitive performance.

OPPO has also revealed some of the A7 Pro Max’s camera specifications. The smartphone will feature a dual-camera setup on the rear, headlined by a 50MP primary sensor. It will also get a 50MP front-facing camera, suggesting that selfies and video calls will be another area of focus.

The official listing shows three colour options: Black, Light Blue, and Orange. The blue and orange versions stand out with a patterned finish on the rear panel. The handset will launch in three memory configurations: 8GB + 128GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB. Other specifications have not yet been confirmed, but recent leaks and a Geekbench listing suggest the A7 Pro Max could feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset.

The OPPO A7 Pro Max makes sense primarily if long battery life is a priority. However, the large battery alone should not be the deciding factor. Display quality, charging speed, weight, and chipset performance will be important to assess once OPPO reveals the remaining specifications and pricing.
