The Vivo X300 FE has officially been launched in India as the successor to the X200 FE, staying true to its core idea of delivering a compact device with near-flagship specifications. It joins the brand’s latest X300 lineup as the third entrant, sitting just below the standard X300. While the X300 FE offers a near-identical form factor to its pricier sibling, it makes a trade-off by opting for a sub-flagship chipset instead of a top-tier processor. That said, it packs a strong punch elsewhere, with a larger 6,500mAh battery, complemented by both wired and wireless charging support. Vivo also extends its teleconverter kit to the X300 FE, with a Gen 2 lens, which is lighter and more compact than the original version.

Vivo X300 FE specifications hint at a sub-flagship experience
The Vivo X300 FE carves out its own identity with a distinctive visor-style camera module that sits closer to the top edge. The design choice reminiscent of recent Pixel devices and iPhone Air. I personally prefer the cleaner, vertical pill-shaped camera module on the Vivo X200 FE, placed neatly in the top-left corner. It looks more understated, though it doesn’t offer the same level of stability when the phone is placed on a flat surface, something the X300 FE’s wider camera platform handles far better.
Moreover, the smartphone features a premium aluminium frame paired with a glass back, giving it a solid in-hand feel. The handset also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, adding an extra layer of durability. As for its dimensions, the X300 FE remains close to both the X300 and X200 FE, maintaining its compact footprint. The handset measures 150.8mm in height and 71.8mm in width, with a thickness of 8.2mm. Moving on, the X300 FE weighs 190.2 grams, ensuring a balanced profile without being overly bulky.
Talking about the Vivo X300 FE hardware, it isn’t drastically different from its predecessor, but there are upgrades to be seen. The most notable is the performance, which remains a notch lower than the vanilla X300 but is more powerful than the X200 FE. The handset rocks Qualcomm’s sub-flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, which is already rocking the OnePlus 15R and iQOO 15R smartphones in India. The SoC should make most everyday and demanding activities a piece of cake for the smartphone. Backing up that performance is the fast LPDDR5X Ultra RAM type and UFS 4.1 storage.
The Vivo X300 FE’s display remains unchanged, featuring a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a sharp 1.5K resolution, razor-thin bezels, and a dynamic 1Hz–120Hz refresh rate, along with HDR10+ support for an enhanced viewing experience.
It also houses the in-display fingerprint scanner, which sees a notable upgrade this year. Unlike its predecessor, the X300 FE now uses an ultrasonic sensor, making it faster and more accurate, while also being positioned exactly where your thumb would naturally rest.
In optics, the Vivo X300 FE features a Zeiss-backed triple-camera setup, including an unchanged 50MP primary sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP Sony IMX882 3x periscope telephoto unit. The newer chipsets’ ISP could make the latest FE’s cameras better. Additionally, the company has introduced the Zeiss Telephoto Extender Gen 2, which extends the focal length up to 200mm, equivalent to the X300 series’ Gen 1 telephoto extender. Vivo has also made the Gen 2 lighter than its predecessor. On the front, the smartphone houses a 50MP Zeiss camera for selfies and video calls.
The Vivo X300 FE houses a 6,500mAh battery, silicon-carbon type, backed by 90W wired FlashCharge and 40W wireless FlashCharge. Binding everything together is OriginOS 6, layered atop Android 16 out of the box. Vivo has promised four major OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the smartphone, keeping it relevant till 2032.
The Vivo X300 FE is recommended for those who want top-tier photography, but in a compact form factor. It’s designed for content creators who want access to the telephoto extender kit without having to spend more on the X300 Pro or Ultra.
