Vivo X300 series confirmed to launch in India soon — upgraded cameras, compact display, and more
Vivo has officially confirmed the India launch of its flagship X300 series. After debuting in China and select global markets, the lineup, comprising the Vivo X300 and X300 Pro, is set to arrive in India soon. With this generation, the X300 takes the place of the compact flagship, while there’s no successor to the X200 Pro Mini. The X300 Pro remains the top-end model and continues Vivo’s push for the best smartphone camera experience. Although the launch date hasn’t been announced yet, teasers suggest the India debut is just a few weeks away.
Vivo announced the India launch through its X handle, and a dedicated microsite for the phones is live on Flipkart, too. We should see more details of the phones in the coming days, although the specifications are public. What’s more important is the Zeiss telephoto extender kit, and whether it’s launching in India or not. It was reported that Vivo will sell the camera kit in India too, but there’s no official confirmation yet. The teleconverter adds 2.35x optical zoom for both the Vivo X300 and X300 Pro. This enables the phones to capture distant objects without losing out on the quality. It would further elevate the X300 series’ camera capabilities. In terms of specifications, the Vivo X300 Pro houses a 50MP Sony LYT-828 1/1.28-inch primary sensor, a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultra-wide lens, and a 200MP Samsung HPB telephoto camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor. It has a 50MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The vanilla X300 gets a 200MP Zeiss Super main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, a 50MP Zeiss APO telephoto camera, and a 50MP autofocus selfie camera.

The Vivo X300 and X300 Pro are both powered by MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9500 chipset and the in-house V3+ imaging chip. In terms of performance, we’ll see how the X300 series competes against its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered phones — OnePlus 15, iQOO 15, and Realme GT 8 Pro.
An interesting aspect here is that the Vivo X300 has been launched as the brand’s compact flagship, succeeding last year’s X200 Pro mini. It has a smaller 6.3-inch display compared to the X200’s 6.67-inch display. Vivo seems to have made the lineup cleaner and less confusing without the need for an additional phone in the flagship series. The Vivo X300 series is also expected to launch with OriginOS 6 out of the box, loaded with new features, a refreshed UI, and system improvements.
The Vivo X200 series, especially the X200 Pro, stood out for its photography prowess. We also called it the camera phone to beat. Its successor, the Vivo X300 Pro, is expected to continue that legacy with even better camera skills. This definitely makes the X300 series one to wait for, and consider if you have a high budget and are looking for a pocket DSLR.
