  • The Vivo X300 series is expected to debut in India next month.
  • The Zeiss telephoto extender kit has a 2.35x teleconverter zoom lens.
  • This accessory will help in taking distant shots without losing out on the quality.

The Vivo X300 series debuted in China earlier this month as the brand’s latest flagship smartphones. The lineup includes Vivo X300, which is now the compact flagship model, and the X300 Pro. Vivo is expected to bring its new phones to India as well, although an official launch hasn’t been confirmed yet. A new report from SmartPrix not only confirms the Vivo X300 series India launch but also suggests the brand will bring the Zeiss telephoto extender kit. This is a bunch of accessories that further elevate the Vivo X300 and X300 Pro’s camera capabilities.

The telephoto extender kit comes with a Zeiss 2.35x teleconverter zoom lens for both the X300 and X300 Pro. Since you’re getting 2.35x optical zoom with the lens extender, you’ll be able to not only zoom further but also capture images without losing out on the quality. The Vivo X300 Pro supports native 3.7x optical zoom, while the X300 offers 3x optical zoom. The lens converter is also said to increase the focal length to 200mm on the X300 Pro and 165mm on the X300. Both phones will reportedly feature a new ‘Teleconverter Mode’ in the camera app for the lens accessory, along with NFC support.

If it does arrive in India, then the Zeiss Telephoto Extender Kit would be sold separately from the phones. There’s no word on the pricing yet, but for context, the Vivo X200 Pro launched at Rs 94,999, and the X200 at Rs 65,999.

Also, like the previous models, the Vivo X300 series is expected to make waves in smartphone photography. The Pro model has a 50MP Sony LYT-828 1/1.28-inch primary sensor, a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultra-wide lens, and a 200MP Samsung HPB telephoto camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor. There’s a 50MP JN1 sensor on the front for selfies and video calls. The vanilla X300 has a 200MP Zeiss Super main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP Zeiss APO telephoto camera. On the front, it houses a 50MP autofocus selfie camera.

Both phones are powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset and V3+ imaging chip. The Vivo X300 has also been launched as the brand’s compact flagship, succeeding last year’s X200 Pro mini. It has a smaller 6.3-inch display compared to the X200’s 6.67-inch display.

The Vivo X300 series will most likely launch with OriginOS 6 out of the box, signalling the end of Funtouch OS in India. There’s no official teaser yet, but we should see the Vivo X300 series debut here, possibly in November.
