Vivo X300 series launching in India on December 2nd with Telephoto Extender Kit: here’s how much they could cost

Vivo is also bringing a dedicated Telephoto Extender Kit to India this time, which will only work on the Vivo X300 Pro. The company first announced the kit with the Vivo X200 Ultra in April this year, but this is the first time it’s coming to India.

According to tipster Sanju Choudhary, the Vivo X300 could start from Rs 74,999 for 12GB+256GB and go up to Rs 80,999 for the 16GB+512GB variant, while its box price could be Rs 89,999. Vivo’s Telephoto Extender Kit could cost Rs 20,999, making it a niche but exciting add-on for photography enthusiasts. If correct, that pitches the X300 series against the OnePlus 15, which launched at Rs 72,999. This is notably higher than the launch price of the Vivo X200 series, which started at Rs 65,999. However, a price hike has been seen and is expected for all phone launches, as storage component costs rise sharply. So, no surprises there that Vivo too is passing the burden onto the consumers. The OPPO Find X9 series, which will be Vivo X300 series’ closest competition, is also tipped to start around Rs 75,000, though the official pricing will be known on November 18th.

The Vivo X300 series brings a set of practical upgrades over last year’s Vivo X200 lineup. Battery capacity has increased across both models. The X300 packs 6,040mAh while the X300 Pro moves to a larger 6,510mAh unit, up from roughly 5,800mAh and 6,000mAh on the X200 and X200 Pro. However, this is lower than the 7,000mAh capacities flagships like the OnePlus 15 and OPPO Find X9 series are bringing to India.

Wireless charging also sees a bump from 30W on the previous generation to 40W on the X300 line, while keeping 90W wired charging. The shift to the newer MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, together with updated V3+ and Pro Imaging VS1 chips, should offer efficiency gains and stronger computational photography. Vivo has also refined its camera system this year with newer sensors and an upgraded telephoto setup, with the addition of a Telephoto Extender Kit. OriginOS 6 replaces Funtouch OS 15, so users can expect performance refinements and a smoother UI.

A major talking point around the launch is the Vivo X300 Pro’s is the photography kit, which seems to be becoming an industry trend among premium Android flagships. Xiaomi made it mainstream with the Xiaomi 14 Ultra in 2024, followed by the Xiaomi 15 Ultra that brought such an accessory to India for the first time. OPPO’s upcoming Find X9 series is also launching in India this time with a Hasselblad photography kit. Vivo itself tested the waters with the X200 Ultra’s photography kit, though that model never made it to India. With this move, it’s clear that Vivo is serious about competing in the photography segment with its Zeiss-backed hardware, alongside OPPO Find X9’s Hasselblad and Xiaomi 17’s Leica cameras.

For potential buyers, compared to the Vivo X200 series, the X300 models have better cameras and a more efficient chipset, plus the added benefit of a photography kit. Compared to the OnePlus 15 or the upcoming OPPO Find X9 series (which will also offer its own photography kit), your choice really depends on how much you value camera accessories and pro-style shooting. Both Vivo and OPPO are packing the same chipset, though the OPPO Find X9 series offers a slightly bigger battery. OnePlus is focussing on gaming this time along with performance and software, while Vivo and OPPO are putting more weight on photography tools.
