After keeping its Ultra lineup largely confined to China, Vivo now looks set to change course with the upcoming X300 Ultra. The smartphone has already picked up certification in Europe, signalling a global release, and fresh leaks are steadily revealing what could be Vivo’s most ambitious camera flagship yet.
The latest details come from tipster Digital Chat Station, who claims that the Vivo X300 Ultra will feature a flat 6.82-inch BOE LTPO display with 2K resolution. This is a notable shift in design language, as the phone is tipped to move away from curved panels and instead adopt a flat metal frame. Interestingly, the dedicated camera button seen on the vivo X200 Ultra is said to be missing this time around, hinting that Vivo may be rethinking its hardware controls in favour of a cleaner look. The rear camera island reportedly keeps the familiar design, but with a revised layout that relocates the periscope telephoto sensor.
Under the hood, the Vivo X300 Ultra is expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The phone is also rumoured to pack dual 200MP rear cameras, an upgrade over the X200 Ultra, which has dual 50MP cameras and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens. The smartphone is also tipped to house a battery above 7,000mAh, making it one of the largest cells ever fitted into a mainstream flagship.
What makes this leak particularly interesting for Indian buyers is the suggestion that the Vivo X300 Ultra will see a global launch, unlike the X200 Ultra, which remained limited to China. If Vivo brings this model to India, it would target the premium flagship segment, competing with the Galaxy S Ultra series and Xiaomi’s Ultra devices. Vivo’s X300 and X300 Pro flagships were launched in India and cater to the premium segment.
For buyers considering a top-end phone upgrade early next year, this could be a good reason to pause. With a massive display, flagship Snapdragon chipset, a potentially class-leading camera setup, and a huge battery, the Vivo X300 Ultra is shaping up to be a serious all-rounder, and possibly one of the most exciting camera flagships of 2026, if Vivo follows through with a proper India launch.
