The Vivo Y500 may get a 4G variant soon. The handset is expected to be a more affordable version of the Y500 5G, which was introduced in China last year. While Vivo is yet to officially confirm its launch, the handset has surfaced on the Google Play Console. Such listings are required for devices seeking compatibility with Google Play services and often hint at an imminent launch. The Vivo Y500 4G has appeared with multiple model numbers, including those previously spotted on the Bluetooth SIG certification database earlier this month, suggesting that the handset could be headed to multiple markets.

The Google Play Console lists the Vivo Y500 with model numbers V2570, V2584, V2627, V2634, and V2635. While the listing doesn’t state it to be a 4G model, its presence seems to indicate that it is, since the 5G model has already been launched. Except for the V2570, the rest of the models also appeared on a separate listing, seemingly confirming the smartphone’s launch is around the corner.

Unfortunately, the listings do not reveal anything about the Vivo Y500 4G’s features and specifications. However, Tech Outlook has shared key details of the smartphone. The handset will reportedly sport a 1,260×2,800-pixel resolution punch-hole display and an octa-core Spreadtrum UM9360 SoC, which is said to be the Unisoc T7300 chipset. The chipset has a clock speed of 2.2GHz, offering a couple of performance and six efficiency cores, indicating that it is best suited to handle basic tasks.
Moving on, the Vivo Y500 4G is likely to ship with 8GB of RAM and Android 16-based OriginOS 6 out of the box. That’s all we know about the handset for now. However, these details are based on early listings and leaks, so they should be treated with caution until Vivo makes an official announcement. If the smartphone inherits the massive 8,000mAh battery from its 5G counterpart, it could emerge as an interesting option in its segment.
There are several 4G alternatives on the market, but none offer a battery larger than 6,000mAh. With its massive 8,000mAh cell, the Vivo Y500 4G could stand out from the competition, particularly in India. If Vivo prices it aggressively, the handset has the potential to become one of the most compelling budget smartphones of the year.
