Just like most of its smartphones, Xiaomi has now hiked the price of its highest-end tablet available in India, the Pad 8. Now retailing for Rs 35,999 up from Rs 33,999 for the base 8GB + 128GB model, the tablet carries an 11.2-inch display with 3.2K resolution and up to 144Hz refresh rate, a capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, and a large 9,200mAh battery. Available in multiple storage and display type options, let’s take a look at the new pricing:
Table of Contents
| Variant | Old pricing | Revised pricing |
| 8GB + 128GB | Rs 33,999 | Rs 35,999 |
| 12GB + 256GB | Rs 36,999 | Rs 38,999 |
| 12GB + 256GB (Nano Texture) | Rs 38,999 | Rs 40,999 |
| 12GB + 256GB (with Pen) | Rs 41,999 | Rs 43,999 |
| 12GB + 256GB (Nano Texture with Pen) | Rs 43,999 | Rs 45,999 |
Since the company’s official website reflects the revised pricing without any prior indication, the reasoning behind the price hike is likely due to the ongoing memory chip shortage and rising component costs. Since smartphones across all price segments have received multiple price hikes over the last few months, there are high chances that the Xiaomi Pad 8 could see another price increase in the future.
Even with the revised pricing, the Xiaomi Pad 8 remains one of the strongest options in its segment. With the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 on board, the tablet gains much superior performance over the likes of the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro and Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 Plus, which are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 and Exynos 1380, respectively. It scores over 2.3 million on the AnTuTu benchmark, and can run graphics-intensive games at smooth frame rates.
As noted in our review, the Pad 8 presents itself as a well-rounded machine that packs a large and detailed display, excellent stereo speakers for an immersive content-watching experience, and fluid software with tons of multitasking flexibility. While the 9,200mAh battery could’ve delivered better endurance, it’s still a great grab under Rs 40,000.
