It is, no doubt, one of the best budget laptops to buy, if you're okay with a couple of compromises here and there. The battery life is not something to rave about. I do miss the back-lit keyboard. And yes, the touchscreen gives problems in some cases. nnBut what is WORSE is how Flipkart deals with you, if you have problems/questions related to the product. Their delivery will be super quick but that's it. nnOnce you have paid for the product, the honeymoon's OVER!! They talk to you as if they don't know you and they have nothing to do with you! I called Flipkart asking how do I know whether I have 8GB SSD or not since in certain cases, people have reported it was missing. And Since their tech support or customer 'care' was blissfully unaware of how to answer that they told me they'd call back and when they did - they made sure I get the most snappy customer 'care' executive ever!! She offered two solutions to check for the SSD and NEITHER OF THOSE SOLUTIONS WORKED! In the end, we got into an argument and she was courteous enough to hang up!! nnI think, instead of 'Customer Care', we could call your call-center 'Customer - couldn't-care-less' support!
I bought this laptop from Flipkart through WS Retail Seller. I am a doctor working in a teaching college so needed a laptop mostly for use for teaching and internet reading.nnHowever, this is what happened when I placed the order:nn1. I ordered for a silver laptop (graphic showed silver colour) but was delivered a BLACK laptop!! I complained to Flipkart about this the very next day n they said they would call back... However, the complaint was handled only after a period of about 9-10 days and during that time my work suffered as I did not know whether to use the laptop or not!!!nnFinally after 10 days, I decided to use the laptop, and when Flipkart called to offer to change the laptop, I took an apology token from then instead and sacrificed on my colour- silver.nn2. The product works fine, touch feature is great but the laptop has several drawbacks:nna. I CANNOT CONNECT THIS LAPTOP TO THE LCD PROJECTOR as it lacks the port reqd to connect the cable of the projector!!!! I have to now go for a converter device to insert that pin OR beg to other people to transfer my presentation onto theirs before my class!nn3. No optical drive (can't play DVD) which I knew before buying.nn4. The screen will not flip upside down when laptop is kept in flex mode. So viewing in tent mode is not possible for this model.nnRest is all fine. This laptop heats up much less than my previous Dell Inspiron machine which heated like a furnace! It is light and comfortable to slip inside backpack, good for travel. Scrolling documents is a bit of a trouble as the touchpad won't allow touch-scroll- you have to use both hands to scroll using touchpad (alternately u can use the arrow-down key). Battery life is pretty good, lasts 3-4 hrs comfortably with medium brightness. All in all, a good laptop for minimum or basic needs...however, I suggest u choose another one if your work involves projecting presentations from the laptop onto the big screen!nnOverall, I give 2.5/5 to WS Retail for delivering wrong colour, 2.5/5 to Flipkart for the delay in exchanging and 2.5/5 to Lenovo Flex-2 14 D for not being very compatible with my teaching function.
This laptop is pretty lean !! Gives of a very delicate and fragile appearance but is not so . Pretty solidly built overall but has one major flaw which kind of spoils the whole design - that is its slightly wobbly keypad.nThe trackpad is also a little too enthusiastic in recognizing touches but that cant be really said to be a bad thing. will take time getting used to it i suppose.nSo as everyone else , I will point out the pro's and con's.nPro's:n1) Very responsive touchn2) display screen is great with good viewing angles (@this price it surely is)n3) There is no separate SSD here as implied by Flipkart , instead its a hybrid disk .System info revealed that its a Seagate's ST500LM000 which has a built in 8gb NAND flash drive in it. So better than your average hard disk.n4) the speakers are pretty goodn5) online research showed that the AMD QuadCore A6 is as good as the core i3 4010U , and that model is like 6k extra +no exchange offer.for that model.n6) very less pre-installed bloatware surprisinglyn7) no noise pr sound , no heating at all visiblen8) hinges are pretty solidnCons:n1) Battery life of 6 hours was only reported in the testing teams dreams I guess . Max battery life which I could achieve was 4 hrs in mid to dim brightness while only doing some browsing and reading.n2) the flimsy keypad - which I feel will be the soar point for me throughout this laptop's existence.n3) the touch screen does require frequent wipes to remove the finger prints.n4) the 1 MP camera is just pathetic in this day and age.nnOn the whole this product is a must buy if you are in the following categories:n1) not a hard core gamern2) not a tech nerd with junks of softwares installedn3) not a spec whoren4) enjoy watching movies, TV series and movies along with downloading themn5) doing tonnes of browsingn6) and reading (online or offline)n7) like playing solitaire on windows.nnI bought it by exchanging my 5+ year old Dell Studio 1555 so i do feel a little sad but that laptop had to go or it would have burnt me to death in another few months ;)nSo if you have a old laptop (working condition) go ahead exchange it and get this one as i think its a GREAT deal at 26000.
Got the product within 2 days. Really fast shipping!!nnPros:nDispaly is good.nTouch works fine.nBattery comes upto 5-6 hours when using it. If you keep the laptop in stand by mode you get may up to 7-8 hours. Good battery performance!!nYou can't hear any noise while using it.nnCons:nNot a backlit keyboard.So typing in low light conditions is difficult. nTouch pad sometimes not responding properly.nIf you try to play high graphical games, system gets struck.nnShipping: They sent me a black one instead of Silver.Take care about it!!nnWithin this price range, this is absolutely a nice product.
Really fast delivery - received the product within 3days.nnAltogether the laptop is nice and light weight. The quality of packaging was excellent.nnThe laptop was fast and took sometime to get used to the Windows 8.1 UI.nnConnected to the internet through the WiFi and the Windows 8.1 OS got activated in the background. Video streaming was at awesome speed, never stopped for buffering.nnCons:nnLaptop screen looked pleasing but after few touches the finger prints were bothering the viewing.nnSometimes the touch is not responded, requires multiple touch to select an item / click an icon.nnBut I couldn't find the SSD disk in the device manager. I doubt if there is one in my laptop. I rechecked the flipkart specification and the manufacturer specification. Both claim an 8GB SSD in the laptop.nnAlso I received the black color whereas the specification claims silver color.nnI asked for replacement and the flipkart agreed to replace the right product. I waited for 3days for the replacement and finally what I received is the similar piece in black color and missing the SSD hardware.nnI don't understand what kind of a replacement mechanism is this? Very bad on flipkart's reputation for delivering the right product claiming the right specs in the portal.
