Bought my g50-80 on Big Billion Day 2015, for exchange offer of 6.5k (+2k off on mobile app +1.75k off using SBI credit card) and a final price of Rs.19816 I have to say, I was amazed to see what I got for the price!! nn Here's the deal nnPros: n1.(4/5) Keyboard(Accu Type) layout and functions are very good and intuitive. nOthers complaining about that shaking of the DFG keys, it's no big deal. It happens only if you press really hard... I'm a programmer and believe me, regular typing doesn't affect it much. I didn't even know until these people bought it up!(good observation though...) nn2.(4/5) Battery backup is pretty good : 5hrs on regular use and 2+hrs on gaming(Metal Gear Solid V, on Low configuration(cuz that's all it can handle)) nn3.(5/5) The stereo speakers are the best part of the laptop!! They're loud and If you are a heavy multimedia person, these Dolby Audio speakers will mesmerize you :) Sounds are really crisp and you can actually sense the stereo effects!! (A big thumbs Up!!) nn4.(5/5) No heating issues at all. Just gets little warm near the touch-pad after gaming that's all. Also it's NOISELESS.... seriously I couldn't hear a sound even if I kept my ears on the laptop itself! Good work Lenovo :):) nn5.(5/5) Web surfing and video playback(even 4k Vids on YouTube work fine if u hv a good internet connection). Netizens... Go for it!! nn6.(5/5) Windows 10 Home pre-installed is really cool!! (for the price, that's amazing!!) nBoot up time is like 10s guys!!!!! Turn it on and before you even realize, logon screen will be ready (gr8 work MS). Even waking up from sleep is lightning fast... nn7.(3/5)One USB 3.0 port. (at least it's there! :p) nn8.(4/5) I got a cool original Lenovo backpack FREE(Yay!!) nnCons : nn1.(1.5/5) The glossy finish on the back gets dirty and is a finger print magnet and regular cleaning is necessary(at least then you'll keep your laptop clean! ) buying a cool laptop skin would not only solve this, but make it really awesome :D nn2.(2/5)The Ethernet port is irritating sometimes ... I actually broke one of my cables trying to connect it... You have to actually forcefully push it to open the flap half-covering the opening. I'm new to this kinda Lenovo stuffs so.... nn3.(0.5/5) Webcam(0.3mp) is horrible!! A cheap phone will hv a better camera. The image is too washed out and a video chat would look like you're talking to a painting(Better use Skype on ur phone!) nn4.(3.5/5) Display brightness could've been more... After all they're LED screens, they should be! (For outdoors) it's perfectly fine indoors. nn5.(no rating, just an opinion) I prefer the 3.5mm headphone Jack on the left and the power socket on the right side... It's exactly the opposite in this... It'll get some time to get used to(maybe that's just me!) nn6.(3/5) 500gb HDD was a turn off for me cuz I'm a multimedia person too and I need a Lotta space for all those movies and TV shows... I hv an external HDD, but 1TB internal HDD would've been nice. nnSummary: nnIt's a steal for all casual users and multimedia users and programmers like me who don't need much processing power or high end graphics. Remember, it's a budget laptop and don't expect more than what you should, if u want more you can always upgrade it yourself(at your own risk!) For eg: 8gb RAM or a 1TB HDD. nAs far as gaming is concerned, this is not the one for you. It'll run almost any game but the core i3 and Intel HD 5500 can only take so much! You can play in low congif and low frame rates (30fps or less). Small games for casual users is FINE. nnOVERALL, as a student this fulfilled all my needs... No regrets!! nnFlipkart : nOrdered on 17th Oct night, got it on 21st Oct morning!! Hassle-free exchange procedure, very understanding delivery guy.... Delivering a product like this on Big billion Day in 3 business days is awesome!! (5/5) for FLIPKART service. nnUPDATE (11/5/16):nI had a problem recently... My internal HDD started showing warnings that it is failing and the laptop had actually slowed down a bit. I immediately contacted Lenovo and guess what? i could claim my 1yr Warranty as it had been just 5 months(occured in March), and the service was really good!! They sent a techie to replace the HDD within a week and it's all merry now :):) nnUpvote if my review helped!! nThanks :D
laptop which i received hangs after 2-3 hours of use and i have to restart it again to use again. nand flipkart sick replacement policy is useless. I register a replacement request and everyday one or another person from flipkart keeps calling and escalates the issue and its been 2 weeks and nothing has been done apart from repeated calls.nPlease dont promise if you can,t deliver@ flipkart.
Upon opening the laptop, and going through the 1st step to set it up, it asks you to connect to a WiFi network. The network connection did not work. I was asked by Lenovo customer support to reset the OS, then download 2 driver files of 250 mb each to install. nnI chose to return the product instead.nnA new laptop should come with a working network connection manager.
Have been using this laptop for last 2 months. I can say this is best laptop in this budget range. nnPros:nVery good Manufacturing quality.nSound is clear and loud enough.nHD camera.nNo heating problem.nWindows 10 OS is super good. nCons:nBattery life is not so great. Running 2 to 2.5 hours on full charging. Believe battery will die in 1 year. nnOverall it is a good laptop in this price range.
