A month ago I searched extensively for a decent laptop under 20k and then zeroed upon this machine. Laptop comes without any OS, freeDOS is like no OS. As expected, it was packed very nicely- the Laptop, charger and battery. What came as surprise was a nice looking branded (Lenovo) bagpack. I tried to install linux mint and ubuntu but failed. Reason of which I found that this laptop has got latest bios, so usb has to be formatted accordingly, then tried installing windows 8. Used "rufus" (a program to create bootable usb ) in UEFI/GPT mode beacuse BIOS requires that mode for atleast windows. Windows 8 is working without any problem. There is a setting in BIOS exclusively for windows 8. Select that and save. If you are not able to get into BIOS use one key recovery button to get into BIOS or boot device priority. Laptop comes with drivers for windows 8. Enough gyaan for n00bs. Now i should come to pros and cons. PROS-: 1. Big bright screen(15.6), very good graphics . 2. 2x USB 3.0 ports, so very fast transfer with external hard disk(70-90 MBPS) on usb 3.0 enabled disk. 3. Dolby digital sound system is good , Initially I found it not as good as my hp mini laptop but it is actually better when Dolby settings are enabled. 4. AMD processor works just fine. 1080p movies play without much problem. 5. Around 4 hrs battery backup when watching movies 6. Got a bagpack which wasn't mentioned when I ordered from WSretail, I don't know if other sellers would be giving it as well CONS-: 1. Plastic body (Although doesn't look cheap anyway) 2. Mouse pad buttons are a bit lousy. 3. Charger port and charger pin are kind of new type i.e. not conventional type. Some people may not find it good looking but that is not an issue as it does the job properly. I think for the price which I bought it for , it's an ideal laptop with all new features (usb 3.0, hdmi port, new bios, dvd writer) however AMD processor is ofcourse not as good as core i3, i5 or i7 processors, but at this price one cannot complain. Remember this is a 64 bit machine so install a 64 bit OS and 64 bit softwares(VLC etc.) for optimum performence.
This laptop looks good on paper but it aint...one might think its a good bargain with the low price but let me tell you its a total letdown.To be frank,most laptops in this range are bad. Regular hangs, irritable touchpad even when brand new. So just imagine what wud happen wen u fill the 500gb space. One advice : Stay away from this cheap laptops! save ur money n buy better ones
While the Laptop has been very satisfactory( Win 7 installed) the service from flipkart this time was average. I was expecting a laptop bag which many others have got from the same reseller (WS retail) however no bag this time was a bit of a downer. Flipkart claims it is subject to offers at the time of purchase. I spoke with filpkart customer care, no joy.
good value for money.. will recommend for those who want to use it for daily purpose.. not for the pro-gamers. but i a, satisfied since it helps me a lot in my clinic work.. my clinic is now paperless! Thank you Flipkart for the amazing deal! the prompt delivery and packaging is prompt as expected!
good to buy if you are looking for a non commercial or can say personal laptop which you will be using for entertainmetn ,fun etc nice product acc. to its given price low configuration is something taking it behind and speed is not tht much satisfactory otherwises if u have a budget of this frame] go for it
