The Canvas Xpress 2 from Micromax looks like a solid contender in its space
Aug 25 2015 By Deeksha KoliThe Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 boasts compelling specifications and design for its price. It features a sharp screen, smooth performance and decent battery life. However, there are some departments where the brand has cut corners. It doesn`t support 4G for one, and runs an older version of Android too. The recently-launched Redmi 2 Prime, Moto E (2nd Gen) and Karbonn Titanium MachFive (first impressions) are all worthy contenders offering Android Lollipop and 4G for a marginally higher price. However, the Canvas Xpress 2 is still a compelling option in the budget segment, especially if you’re looking for a capable smartphone to flaunt without denting your pocket.
Read Full ReviewI ordered this phone for my sister as her first phone. I had no big expectations on this phone. When the phone arrived, The packaging was impressive. I'll describe my observations so far. nnDisplay: The phone's display is as premium as any mid end Samsung phone. The colors are vivid. The touch screen is also well responsive considering the price. nnPerformance: With an Octa Core processor and Mali 450 MP4, it's the most powerful phone at this price range. There are no visible lags as of now. The UI is fluid as it should be. nnCamera: This is where the phone is a killer. This 13MPX killer camera captures pictures better than my Yuphoria and don't underestimate the 2MPX front camera. The front camera's quality is also satisfactory but the pictures are grainy in low light. nnSensors: The only place where the phone lags. It doesn't have Magnetic and Gyro Sensor. So this phone will not be compatible with any VR Cardboards. So, People who think about experiencing Virtual Reality with this phone, Make a note. nnBattery Backup: I was probably expecting too much of Juice from this 2500mAh battery but got disappointed as the phone discharged from 100% to 34% in around 3 hours with 30% brightness and no Sim Cards and only Wi-Fi. But the minimum brightness is probably enough for most of the time as it's treshold is greater than most of the phones. But the Micromax Update app was consuming 24% of the battery in the background.I'll force close it and update the results later. But with optimum brightness and two SIM Cards on stand-by, it should give you at least 5 hours of backup which is average for almost every phone. So, Nothing exceptional in battery backup. nnLED Notification Light looks like a bonus for this phone. Many phones at this price range don't have one. You will not know when it'll be useful. Without a LED Notification, You'll never know if your phone fully charged or has a notification until you turn on the display. nnAnd finally, The phone sports killer looks. It looks very premium and very well reasonable in this price. The earphones provided with this phone sounds like Beats. Never recieved such high quality earphones with any other phone. Upvote if you find it useful :) nnUpdates:nThis phone has some software issues. The phone slows down occasionally. And suddenly there was a problem with the camera. When you open the Camera App, There is a grey screen in the viewfinder. This can be temporarily fixed by going to Settings->Apps->All->Camera->Clear Data. Then it will take few weeks for it to build up cache and this problem might occur again. The only permanent fix for these issues is a software update by Micromax which is promised. Let's hope Micromax fixes these bugs in the Lollipop Update.
I got this phone on 14 Aug with proper packing and sealed by m.m.It's been 3 days i m using it with heavy usage and phone is performing well. Bluetooth,Wi-fi receptions are good.Screen Clarity is also very good but speaker sound is little bit low but satisfactory. In-earphone provided in box and sound is pretty good specially good for bass heads. About look it's look like a premium phone and eye-catchy. Back cover is rubber type and decrease the chances off slip off from your hand.I found only one issue with this phone is battery draining problem. They say this is phone with battery power of 2500mah but don't think because battery is draining too much fast with light usage.Only battery problem is there but if u buy a powerbank then it’s good. But above all of this you have to keep in mind that it is only 6k phone but if u prefer brand and all the great features then you have to increase your budget upto 20k. If you think brand doesn't matter and features are all things then you must go for it.I personally think its a good phone in this price range. its also good for gifting. if there is no battery issue i would give this 5 star but for now i am giving only 4.its a genuine review and if you found helpful then please mark as helpful.I am happy with this phone :)
