Motorola s Z2 Play offers support for the company s Moto Mods and an incredible battery life in an even slimmer package
Jul 04 2017 By Prateek PandeyThe Moto Z2 Play is certainly not the most powerful handset you can buy for Rs 28,000 and yet, it manages to run butter smooth, offers exceptional battery life, a great display and a decent camera configuration as well. It’s running the latest version of Android and will continue to get updates even in the future and most importantly, the smartphone supports Moto Mods, allowing you to upgrade the device’s speakers or battery life on a whim. The caveat here is that Moto Mods don’t come cheap and will set you back anywhere between Rs 5,999-20,999. For the additional price you might pay for the mods, you could just get yourself a much superior smartphone such as the recently launched OnePlus 5 (review). Moreover, if you’re someone who is never going to invest in a Mod, then buying the much cheaper Moto G5 Plus which comes with identical specs makes more sense for you. Don’t get me wrong, the Z2 Play is an excellent smartphone but you can get similar performance out of a handset for much less. And if you must spend Rs 28K on a device, then bear in mind that there are much better options than the Z2 Play when it comes to pure performance or camera prowess. Therefore, in closing, I’ll suggest you get your priorities straight. If you want a smartphone which will last you upwards of a day off a single charge and is futuristic, then the Moto Z2 Play is probably your best bet. Otherwise, if you have no intention of investing in a Moto Mod, then the notion of buying the Z2 Play is a little unconvincing. All in all, the Z2 Play is a solid contender from Moto in the mid-range segment and I can’t wait to see what the company comes up with next.
Read Full ReviewI was always a Moto fan but I am deeply disappointed by their deception. Got the phone that I preordered today and surprisingly without the armor pack. It was clearly communicated by Motorola that preorder customers will get the armor pack. Nowhere was it specified that armor pack will not be given through flipkartnnReally deceptive tactics by Motorola and idiotic of Flipkart to agree to such a bad deal when customers are getting a better deal offline.
ordered it on first day itself knowing about the device and also the bundled offers along with it , specially the hello armor pack which is absolutely necessary for a phone like this after looking at it's design..Now from different sources when I hear that when 'us' the privileged pre-booking customers f flipkart won't be getting that important package,I feel cheated and definitely want to cancel it.Why this discrimination to flipkart customers knowing that it's the only exclusive online launch partner for this phone... flipkart should provide this package otherwise it will be like keeping us in the dark since June 8th when the pre-booking started....now where are we gonna find protective gears for such a delicate phone!!!what is the benefit of pre-booking if the same offers are available now also??
The Moto Days Sale on Flipkart will run from February 22nd to February 24th
