With a limited Budget of 15k I started hunting for a advanced point and shootncamera that will fufill my basic need for casual photography. nAfter a lot of research I finalized on this model. nnWith 38x optical zoom and added WI-FI/NFC functionality this seems anworthy succesor to the L830. I haven't used any of the previous models, sonwon't compare it with them.nnLets begin withnAccesories: While the product description does not mention it, the box isnloaded with tons of accesories that include: 4 Duracell batteries, 4nRechargable ni-mh battries, 4x battery charger from Nikon, TV-out cable, USB cable, 8GBnclass 10 SDHC card, lens cap with attachment, Shoulder strap and user manual.nThe seller offered a HDMI cable and decent camera pouch (nikon soft-3 model) alongside. nThats almost 3k worth of goodies.nnBuild quality and Form factor: I ordered the red one and it looks prettyndecent. The surface is however prone to finger prints. The camera weighs 538gnand is quite bulky to hold.However it provide a firm rubberised grip. Therenare two zoming options. One place next to the shutter button and another onnthe lens.There is a dedicated switch for wi-fi and video mode.ThenHDMI/TV-out/USB Inouts are covered for protection.nThe Wifi works with Android and Iphones and requires you to download the mobilencamera utility to access the camera hotspot.nThe LCD clarity is crisp and clear with a distinct resolution of 921k dots.nThe LCD tilt feature is good for capturing floor and ceiling pictures withoutntilting your head. However you cannot use it for selfies.nnBattery backup: While this model does not come with rechargable lithiumnbatteries, the option for 4 AA batteries always has its advantages of not having tonwait for recharging the batteries when they run out of juice. It's alwaysneasier to carry 4 spare cells and replace them.Nikon claims to shoot anwhopping 590 images with this backup. I obvioulsy haven't tested this though.nA noticable con is the battery compartment lid is a tedious to close and open.nIt's not a part that can survive a long run with rough use.nnImage quality and Zoom: The Image quality at this price point is pretty decent but not amazing.nThe zoom works well, but with higher zoom levels you will start seeing loss innthe quality. Again the low-light captures tend to have a lot of noise. Which Inthink is common with most camera in this range. It has support for most nof the shooting modes(ex. Sports, Fireworks, Bird watch etc. ). There is a shortcutnfor the macro mode as well.It also support 1080p recording upto 60p.nI wish flipkart would let me share some pics from the camera.nnSo finally to sum it all this camera is definately a worthy buy at this price point.

I bought this product from this site initially it was good i got all the accessories promised in the site but the thing is lens strap is missing. That is not a n issue after a few days i went to my friend birthday party i've started takin' pic's after over 10-15 snaps...the camera it got stopped and i don't know i'am thinking that i got a duplicate product before you sell any product flipkart you have to test the product that is bad experience to me so thank god that i'am having a return option ...i'am not satisfied with this product..from flipkart

Camera hangs and picture qulaity is very bad as it auto focus and manual focus is not at all good and after 5 click u get one photo clear but that is also doesnt look like 16 mp photo pic

Fully satisfied with the purchase.. Especially with the additional Wi-Fi feature and clarity of Zoom and images :-). Got everything that was promised...nnOverall great stuff :-)

All Nikon L products are really good :) L840 simply superb :) Flipkart as well thanks for delivering the product asap :)
