Must buy!

I have owned a point-n-shoot bridge camera so far. This is my first DSLR. I sincerely believe a DSLR is not something to be bought as a first camera. Buy a bridge point-and-shoot first. They offer 75+ % of the functionality of a DSLR, along with the possibility to explore various types of photography such as macro, landscapes, long zoom, etc. without the hassle of a different lens for each type of photography. If you know what kind of photography interests you, and you want to get better images than your point-and-shoot, go get the DSLR!! A bridge point-and-shoot camera will allow you to shoot images in non-Auto modes like P, S, A, M (or P, Tv, Av, M) and you should use these modes to extract the best performance from your camera.nnIt is a very sad scene to see someone using a DSLR in Auto mode. Tragic almost.nnA DSLR is serious work. Lenses 'breathe' when they zoom in and out. This causes dust to enter the camera body. DSLRs need careful periodic maintenance. DSLRs give you really good image quality with specialized lenses. But that lens would do only a limited functionality well. Portraits, telephoto, etc. if you are out on a trip, and are using the portrait lens for shooting pics of your group, and suddenly, you want to take a picture of the Kingfisher on the electric pole, you need to change the lens if you want a good shot! Of course, you need to buy that lens or rent it i.e. you need to carry it with you all the time. This is heavy business. Are you really interested in doing this? Think carefully about this. Lenses are fairly expensive. If you are not up to it, get one of the really good superzooms from Canon or Nikon and they will not disappoint you. They give great images for purposes of sharing with family and friends on social media, etc. nnOkay, now that this important point is out of the way, here is something about my experience with the D7200.nnI bought the D7200 body with the 18-140mm kit lens and the popular 35mm portrait lens. I have not used the 18-140mm much yet, but have used the 35mm in a family get-together. The results were simply WOW! I was simply blown away by the portrait results.nnMy experience is extremely satisfying. As a graduate from the point-n-shoot world, the sheer flexibility and configurability this DSLR provides is very pleasing. I have used the D7100 briefly and had been saving up to buy a DSLR when this got announced. By the time I bought it, DXOMark reviews calling it the best-ever DX sensor had been released. I have yet to test this camera in a variety of situations. However, the D7200 with the 35mm DX has been a real pleasure. Autofocus is amazing and precise! I have a Moto X 2nd Gen phone, so the WiFi + NFC feature is very helpful for me. I was glad it is present in the D7200.nnI have only just started posting pics on my Flickr account, but so far, I am not disappointed. I still need a lot of work with the camera to be able to use if well. Eagerly looking forward to using the camera extensively! :-)

Excellent

I have been using this D7200 for the last 3 months (not bought from Flipkart). Earlier I had 2 D7000 bodies, 1 Nikon 18-105mm VR lens and 1 Tamron 150-600mm VC lens. I sold off one of my D7000 with the 18-105mm and bought this D7200 with the 18-140mm VR and one 50mm f/1.8 prime lens.nNow i mostly use the D7200 with my tamron 150-600mm for bird and wildlife photography. D7200 is a huge improvement over the D7000 in terms of picture quality, sharpness of the clicked image and in many other aspects.nD7200 with the 18-140mm gives tremendous results in landscape and normal casual photography (much much better than the D7000 along with the 18-105mm). I am totally satisfied with the D7200. Thanks to Nikon for such a good product.
