The affordably-priced Realme 5 is worth a closer look. Our review
Aug 21 2019 By Prateek PandeyThe Realme 5 starts at Rs 9,999 and for the price, offers an unbeatable package. From its power-packed performance, to its good-looking design and long-lasting battery life, the smartphone checks all the right boxes. In terms of the competition, the handset faces a stiff battle from the Redmi Note 7S, which offers a higher resolution display for the same price. However, Realme`s offering more than makes up for its lower-res display by scoring higher in other areas. Suffice it to say, the Realme 5 is a home run from the brand, and it`ll find plenty of takers.
Read Full ReviewIf you want a UNBIASED DETAILED REVIEW, check this out! CONS:- Coming to the more important part first, cause not much people talk about them. 1. STORAGE - Though it says 32 Gb of internal storage, you'll get only 22.47 Gb of free space. This will be drastically reduced to 17.5 Gb roughly on installing Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, Truecaller, and some minor apps! Imagine installing PUBG, ASPHALT, etc.. VERY DISAPOINTING! 2. BLOATWARES - Filled with quite a lot of them, some of them are very stupid. The "File Manager" doesn't allow you to see hidden files. The "Gallery" isn't satisfatory. And there are some more as such. You need to install separate apps for them. However views may differ in this case. 3. CHARGING - Though it comes with a huge 5000 mAh battery, it doesn't support Fast Charge. However, it charges the device 0 to 100 within 3-3.5 hours which is fair enough. 4. HEATING - The device may get heated at times to some extent while charging or playing high end games. 5. HEAVYWEIGHT - The big battery results into some weight which may be inconvenient for some people. 6. SCRATCHES and CRACKS - Though the back looks quite premium in hand, it being made of POLYCARBONATE material can lead to scratches 'Easily'. Using a good Back Cover is always 'Suggested'. Also a Tempered Glass in front won't be a bad option either, in cases of extra protection. PROS:- 1. BATTERY - Excellent performance of it's 5000 mAh. Heavy usage (specially Gaming) runs more than 7 hours approx at a stretch. Normal usage can tend upto 1.5 - 2 days (can vary upon the usage under "NORMAL" type). 2. REAR CAMERA - Quite good and decent at this price range including features like Potrait, Ultra Wide, Slow Motion Video Recording, etc. 3. FRONT CAMERA - Good in Colours and Detailing. However, Low light conditions can be 'disappointing' sometimes! 4. PERFORMANCE - 'EXCELLENT' in one word! No lags or very minor ones even if you're playing PUBG, Asphalt, Freefire or other high end games under 'medium' conditions. 5. Other TOP Features include Dual Volte, OTG support, Face Unlock, Corning Gorilla Glass 3+ protection, Gestures and more. Note: I'm reviewing this (3Gb, 32Gb variant) just after a few days of usage. Will keep updating with time. Everything has it's pros and cons, and so does Realme 5. So, I would rate it 4/5 as of now. But I can also say, it's definitely 'VALUE FOR MONEY'. Thank you for your time. Have a Good Buy. :)
When I purchase it next day stolen by neighbor, it means it's a good phone.
