The Infinix Note 60 Pro is all set to launch in India on April 13th, and it’s already shaping up to be one of the more interesting mid-range smartphones this year. From being the first Snapdragon-powered Infinix device to introducing an all-new Active Matrix LED display at the back, there’s quite a bit that helps it stand out. There’s even a special COD Mobile edition in the mix.
Ahead of its official debut, we got some hands-on time with the device. Here are our early thoughts.

Active Matrix Display explained
The highlight feature here is undoubtedly the Active Matrix Display. This is essentially a mini LED panel at the back powered by 288 independent LED pixels, capable of lighting up for different animations and functions. You can customise it with pixel pets, mini games, and even personal signatures. It also doubles up as a notification system, lighting up for incoming messages, weather updates, charging status, and battery alerts.

What’s impressive is the level of control, as you can tweak brightness levels and personalise the experience to your liking. It feels well thought out and genuinely fun to use, rather than being just another gimmick. It also adds a playful layer to the overall smartphone experience.
Design: A mix of iPhone and Nothing
It’s hard to ignore the design influences here. The camera module and the Solar Orange finish strongly resemble iPhone 17 Pro, while the LED setup is similar to Nothing Phone (3)’s Glyph Matrix. Even the wallpapers feel somewhat iOS-inspired. That said, the Infinix Note 60 Pro still manages to carve out its own identity. The design feels premium, the build is comfortable, and the phone doesn’t feel overly bulky.

The Mocha Brown variant stands out for its understated look, while Solar Orange and Deep Ocean Blue offer more vibrant options. I was personally sceptical about the Solar Orange colour based on the teaser images, but the in-person look and feel is quite different and quite good, actually. There’s also a Call of Duty: Mobile edition with custom UI elements, themed icons, and special packaging, though the hardware remains identical.
Interestingly, the phone includes a dedicated side button that can measure heart rate and SpO₂ levels. Simply press and hold the button to display the readings in the My Health app. It’s not something you see often in this segment, and while its accuracy obviously shouldn’t be considered medically, it’s a thoughtful addition for users who like quick health insights on the go.
Another unique addition is the MagPower speaker accessory. It magnetically attaches to the back of the phone and serves multiple purposes. It works as a Bluetooth speaker, a portable stand, and even supports 10W wireless charging. Infinix is bundling this accessory with the Note 60 Pro for free for a limited time.
First Snapdragon-powered Infinix phone
The Note 60 Pro marks a significant shift for Infinix, as it becomes the brand’s first smartphone powered by a Qualcomm chipset. It packs the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, hinting at a noticeable performance boost over previous models. There’s also a vapour chamber cooling system onboard, which should help with sustained performance and heat management, something we’ll be testing more thoroughly in the full review.
What we think so far…
The Infinix Note 60 Pro looks like a promising mid-range contender with a strong focus on standing out. Between the interactive Active Matrix design, the shift to a capable Snapdragon chipset, and thoughtful extras like the MagPower accessory, there’s a lot here that feels fresh. Pricing will ultimately play a crucial role, especially given how competitive the segment is right now. But if Infinix gets that right, the Note 60 Pro could easily carve out an edge over its rivals.
