The Gear S2 Classic is an upgrade of Gear S2 and comes with a classier and traditional body. It has all the necessary features expected of a powerful smartwatch and if budget is not a constraint then this is worth going for.

A class apart

Display and Design

The Gear S2 classic is an upgrade of Gear S2 and sports a much traditional design. The smartwatch boasts of a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display which has a screen resolution of 360 x 360 pixels, the display quality is further enhanced with its razor sharp pixel density of 424ppi. The gadget sports a circular curved design with a dimension of 11.4mm and weighs 42 grams which give it a bulkier look than its older sibling. The watch comes in black leather strap and the stainless steel body. It can be customised with custom face to give it a unique look.

Configuration and Compatibility

The Gear S2 Classic is powered by Tizen based wearable platform operating system and is powered by 1.0-GHz dual-core processor with 512MB RAM which makes sure it renders seamless performance. The device is compatible with Samsung phones running Android 4.3 or above with a minimum of 1.5 of RAM and with non Samsung Android phones it requires v4.4 or above with the same 1.5GB RAM. Like other sibling, the smartwatch comes with inbuilt apps that lets you keep track of your movements, Line which works a global messaging application along with Twitter trends. The S Health feature assists you in keeping track of your fitness too.

Battery and Connectivity

The smartwatches derives its energy from a 250mAh battery and lets your recharge your phone through in-built wireless charging option. The connectivity features include Wi-Fi,Bluetooth and NFC. You can connect your watch with your smartphone via Bluetooth to enjoy music. You can make and receive calls, send text messages and check emails as well, so you do not miss on any of your daily meetings. The watch is water and dust proof as well.
