Sony CyberShot DSC-W730 Point & Shoot Camera

I was attracted to this camera seeing the bullet features of this camera which were-nn 8x Optical Zoom and 32x Digital Zoomnn HD Recordingnn 2.7 inch ClearPhoto TFT LCDnn 16.1 Megapixel Camerann Super HAD CCD Image Sensornn 35 mm Equivalent Focal Length: 28 - 224 mmnn f/3.3 - f/8.0 AperturennThis gave me a clear cut idea of a better optical zoom 8x, not available in any other sony model. Though you can get higher optical zoom in canon sx150 with 10x zoom but there you will cry for the 14mp. Here you will get a nice touch of sony pic processing & thus the quality is extremely good.nnNow comes the question why Sony W730 & not W710, with almost the same features in a price less than Rs.2000 ??nnThe answer is, the quality of the picture, which is not mentioned or will never be mentioned in any of the websites. Moreover the design & of his model is extremely cool than the W710. You will feel it when you will be able to keep both the models side by side, or take both of them in your hands. The Sony W710 had a look that says that- " I am a cheaper model than W730 "nnNow the features that won W730 over W710, is the Clarity of the pic which I have already mentioned before. Secondly is that you will get video & image format of better options than that model, thirdly & most important is the LENS.nnTHE Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 8 LENS, which is said to be the one of the BEST quality lens used in cameras. SLR cameras even have this type of lens. This is a huge leap, & the most better reason to give out Rs. 2000 extra.nnLens Construction : 8 elements in 7 groups nnIt has 720p MP4 HD Movie Mode, in 720p MP4 movie mode the camera shoots 1280 x 720 high definition movies at 30 fps. All the battery time are taken until they reach a low battery signal. And it is advisable to switch of your camera the moment you reach low bat sig.nnCharging of the batteries will take 110 mins or 2hours.nnSo people who have a budget of Rs. 8000/- this camera is a good grab! Even Nikon & Canon is okay, but you know this is Sony so you will feel nice/safe to just depend on its product.

I had the original cyber shot-- and I LOVED it. But not this one. I just finished doing the West Coast Trail, one of the top ten tough hikes in the world AND I HAVE NO DARNED PHOTOS TO SHOW OF IT THAT ARE WORTH SEEING!!! ALL ARE OVER EXPOSED!! I took 400 photos and maybe 2 are worth looking at-- NO depth and NO proper depth of colors. I used a variety of photo shooting parameters!! Easy shot, smart shot, night shot, day shot, etc. etc. AND it took forever to record the photos onto the stick!! I AM DEVASTATED TO SOBS! Let the darned Sony President walk 80 km in the bog, wet , temperate rainforest over 7 days and then see what his pictures look like-- bet he'd be as PISSED AS I AM! I am very familiar with this camera and did test it prior to the trip--saw a few things I didn't like (speed of recording image, fast shot??? Only in your dreams) but NEVER expected this poor a quality from sony when I was so happy before. SHAME ON YOU SONY!!
