Awesome defined... Hi, \tRecently i bought this laptop for my sister for diwali. And this one rocks. How did i chose this?? \tFirst i thought of going for a laptop without dedicated graphics as my sister wont play games.I researched in flipkart and finally got this. But Ram is of only 2 gb.?? This was bothering me.. What can i do.. i went to a retail shop where i got this diwali offer--- 2 Gb Ram free. And now its 4 GB...Yes, this one got a free slot for Ram and you can add the number of GB you prefer. Why Sony??--(My points-- May differ with yours..--Applicable to laptops with this price range) \t1.Dell looks cheap. \t2.HP you all know the first thing you'll do is getting your battery replaced in no time, heating issues. \t3.Lenovo- Thought of getting one from this, but when i decided one of my friend who got lenovo said his graphics card Nvidia got melted and pasted with motherboard and now he needs to replace the whole motherboard...5 months back he changed the entire display which cost his 9000 Rs.. (lap is 3 years old) \t4.Sony - Good looks, good battery, and i own a Sony myself and i'm not disappointed at all- (except for battery - gone after 2 years) \t5 Samsung- It was good, compared to the prices, but the keyboard was pathetic and built looked cheap.. This one has 3rd generation i3 processor for just this price of around 35000. That too in Sony. I got Sony VPCEB36 model 2 years back, which has a full hd screen for Rs 50,000. Comparing that to this, this model outshines in every aspect with that except for the 1gb graphics and mouth watering full hd of EB36. Highlights: 1.Multi-input gesture touchpad 2.xLoud technology which is crisp and delight to hear 3.USB 3.0 4.WINDOWS 8, Fast Booting in around 10 to 15 seconds 5.USB Charging 6.Great battery backup..Atleast 4 hrs minimum... coz you wont beleive(currently it shows 3 hr 23 min while playing linkin park in speaker with about 59% remaining) 7.You can get extended sony warranty for just Rs.2650 for 2 extra years( 1 year official warranty with laptop + 2 extra years). Consider this because atleast your battery will get down in the second or third year which will cost you atleast 5000 Rs... 8.And finally Super Look.. Negatives: 1.Nothing specific i found. But the touch pad is little uncomfortable to use..... So, i finally say this Guys.. This whole new range of Sony laptops with Windows 8 will be one to worth looking before you buy a laptop....
Thumps up: order was delivered in superfast time as usual!!! Post usage of 48 non stop hours: 1.love the UI for win 8 after all the previous versions.For basic usage it was good to see the interface driven screens.It would take you a few hours understanding it :D. THUMPS UP!! 2.the built quality and the look and feel at the price was not that eye catching , yet good. 3.as it boils down, the OS needs a heavy internet bandwidth, like any other smart phone, it too would work best with a good connection (not less than 2mbps :D). 4.After all the requisite downloads,updates,re downloads, re updates, phew what a tiring day it has turned out already trying to get the lappy onroad, you will end up spending a lot of time waiting for the VAIO UPDATES - fail retry fail retry etc- IRRITATING. THUMPS DOWN :( 5.The machine is laggy when trying to do one installation(e.g microsoft office trial) and typing into a notepad. Sad- i thought you could at least do that in win7 with the same configuration. So may be think of sticking to win7 with this config.Or add some RAM, 2 gigz aint good enough- Thumps DOWN!! :( 6.You cant and dot expect to PLAY GAMES on this one, not the client ones especially.If you are a sudoku,chess,pool etc fan: maybe yes, but defenitely not the CS,NFS etc category!! NO COMMENTS(i didnt intend to play games on tihs one :P) for generic purpose good for sending mails, surfing etc- as i3 is advertised by intel :P!! 7.I am totally MAD with the quality of camera- the win8 camra app looked like a 1999 released best freaking pixelated crap, lol.I looked into the scree nwith hazzy ghostly looking me.@ 1.3 mp, i would have expected a better quality.DONT BUY THIS mach if you want a good camera resolution while chatting or even for taking a passport sixed picture- it wont be at par with your average smart phone quality(talking 1.3mp here)!! TOTALLY THUMPS DOWN- a reason i wont spend so much money!! Summary: I am gonna let my wife use it for daily web surfing, a few clicks here or there, may be music, may be downloading a few pdf books, but apart from that, ita costly machine for the price, think twice, because you may want to buy a better configuration, at least for RAM and graphics quality. It's a Superb Laptop with Great configuration. I put 4gb more RAM inside this after that the processing speed is very fast. I used this continuously for 15hrs. It's a cool laptop, No heating problem nothing, It's a very smooth laptop. The graphics is good. Camera is good then other laptops. Speakers are superb the sound quality is good and loud. All things in this laptop is very nice. I really like this product very much....
Good experience with sony and win 8 pros: -good config, I bought this at local store with 4gb/500gb/1gb graphic for 33.2k -no heat problem -battery is good(4hrs-normal use,2.5-3hrs-videos & gaming) -good design(look is great with white) cons: -it's taking lot of time to charge -camera sucks -arrow keys are small
Good laptop. Only issue is the RAM that is just ~2GB. Had to upgrade the same to 8GB for a remarkable performance
