The Sony Vaio Pro is the among the first laptops to conform to the latest (June 2013) specification of Intel Ultrabook. It runs the 4th-gen Intel Core-i processors, which give it an amazing 6.5 hours of battery life (with about 70% screen brightness and light processing). The best thing about this machine is that it weighs only 1.06 kilos, but the carbon fiber construction feels very sturdy, even though it flexes a bit. One BIG bummer is that, in India, Sony does not allow customization of this laptop, like it does in the US and some other markets. The RAM and SSD are soldered on to the motherboard, so it's impossible to upgrade. Otherwise I would have liked to get 8 GB of RAM, which is becoming the minimum even for light weight usage these days. Another thing to note is that the trackpad, which is multi-touch, is nowhere as responsive as the ones on Macbooks (I've read that this is a software issue which Microsoft will fix in Windows 8.1). For anybody who's looking to run linux on this PC, note that there are some driver issues right now (the wi-fi and NFC don't work without some tweaking), but I expect that the community will fix these very soon. Overall, its a very good PC for people who want a light machine, with excellent battery life for everyday usage.
Wifi takes a very long time to connect. Wide spread reports of defective wifi. Problem persists even after upgrading to the latest drivers.
i'm going to give this product 1 star and let me clear that it's not for flipkart. flipkart is always awesome. i'm myself businessman IT'S MY VERY BAD EXPERIENCE WITH SONY WHAT I WANT TO SHARE WITH ALL OF YOU SO YOU PEOPLE NOT GET CHEAT LIKE ME IN FUTURE this 1 star is for sony and their cheap products. i've purchased 2013 model ultrabook SVT13125CNS from local sony show room. after year my warranty get expired and just after 1 week from warranty expiration. my laptop goes sleep while i was doing important work on it. Then i visited sony care and i was surprised when i visited sony care when they said me to change my mother board of Rs.40,000 what the hell >_< small power problem and they said me to change my motherboard. when ask for warranty expansion they said there is not such schemes in sony which is another shocking thing for me. sony do not providing warranty expansion like other brands do like dell,hp,lenovo etc. then i come to know that it's a part of their cheap policy. now i know the truth that sony are one of the biggest cheater company in the world because it's the part of their cheap policy that after warranty expiration if you visit them they will ask you to replace mother board. it doesn't means whatever your problem is but you has to change your motherboard after warranty expiration which is very costly(almost new laptop price). I was there in sony care 6 customers was waiting outside with different problems after warranty expiration but only one solution for all of them. Replace mother board. so that means sony are always interested to looting money from you and never give you better service. so at the last i want to say DON't BUY ANY SONY PRODUCT AND BE SAFE REASON FOR NOT TO BUY THIS PRODUCT => Cheap policy to replace motherboard after warranty expiration. doesn;t matter whatever your problem is. => No warranty expansion available in sony like other brands. so they can looting money from you easily by forcing you to change your motherboard. => Very costly compare to top models of other brands. => If you hate cheaters.
If anyone looking for light weight laptop...example: Having back problem (finding difficult in carrying laptop), Travelling . I would suggest go for it. Its lighter than apple air for the same configuration. Pros: 1. X-Reality and Triluminos display---Color intensity is good 2.FUll HD 1920x1080 3.Windows 8 4.Keyboard Backlite --Good to work at night time without switching light or if some1 in ur room sleeping and u don't want to switch on the light. 5.Comes with Sony apps. sony music player --very good audio clarity 6. Windows booting happens in few seconds. bcoz of SSD 7.Charger is also very small and less weight. 8. Body is made of carbon Fiber. 9. Its worth for the money, that's what i feel. 10. Nice look. 11. Came with HDMI to VGA cable converter. 12.Battery backup is good. charging back also good. Cons: 1.Faced wifi issue when connecting to my PG Hostel WiFi was not connecting ( connecting and disconnecting i guess i don't remember exactly...but not everytime )...but worked fine with my Home WIFI internet well. 2.Seems Sony has stoped Manufacturing Laptops. 3.Since its SSD only 128GB memory space. 4.No CD/ DVD drive, ethernet slot. since its a sleek laptop
took care of all my computing needs and is incredibly light.
