Xiaomi Redmi 9A

Android v10 (Q)
Rs.6,799

Expert comment:   After the hike in GST rates in April 2020, we were all worried for a while whether great value for money phones from Xiaomi and Realme will ever be available at as good prices as they were available earlier. Redmi 9A is a proof that those days are just around the corner again. The phone comes with modern aesthetics, decent processor, and a massive battery life to offer a decent deal for the price. While you will have to make some compromises in display and camera quality, at this price point, it should be understandable.

    Realme C11

    Android v10 (Q)
    Rs.7,969

Expert comment:   For its price, Realme C11 is a phone that gets the job done. There is nothing fancy about the phone that one can boast about but a combination of decent processor, good battery life, and acceptable camera performance should be suitable for a lot of users. Apart from the utilitarian side, the phone has a really distinctive Rich Green colour option that sets it apart from other phones in the price segment. As Realme has already established its name in India over the last few years, even the brand recognition won't be an issue anymore.

Expert comment:   With a 6,000mAh battery, Tecno Spark 6 practically sells itself to its desired audience. Combine that with a massive 7-inch display and you get a phone that definitely caters to a specific audience. There is no other way to put it but if you want a phone that can serve you as a tablet, Tecno Spark 6 is the choice for you. Keep in mind that you will have to compromise on performance as the processor is a bit underwhelming.

Expert comment:   Xiaomi has ensured that it offers a solid value proposition with the Redmi 8A and the handset also manages to edge out ahead of the Realme C2 with its powerful battery and unique design, even though it only has a single snapper at the rear. Despite being a budget phone, the Redmi 8A comes with a USB Type C charging port, which is definitely a welcome change for the affordable price range. There is a massive 5,000mAh battery onboard too, which is almost becoming a norm for this segment.

Expert comment:   Motorola has been improving its budget offerings for quite some time and the Moto E6s goes on to prove this point. The handset packs an impressive design, comes with a removable battery, and even offers Face Unlock for convenience and security. There is also a fingerprint sensor included on the phone, just in case you still like to unlock the phone in an old-school way. A reliable chipset and a dual-camera setup add to the appeal of the overall package.

Expert comment:   Samsung's latest entry to the Galaxy A series comes at an extremely affordable price but brings along some really interesting specs. The Galaxy A10 packs a 6.2-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display and a 3,400mAh non-removable battery. If we talk about optics, the handset packs a capable 13MP camera at the back, assisted by an LED flash to ensure good images even in low-light conditions. In this price range, this is one of the best handsets, along with Galaxy M10, that the brand offers.

Expert comment:   Realme C2 follows in the footsteps of last year's Realme C1 and offers great value for money in a revamped design. The handset features a waterdrop notch, which is still a rarity in this price range. There is a massive 4000mAh battery onboard, which fuels the handset to run through the day without breaking a sweat. With a diamond cut pattern, sleek design, and smooth performance, Realme C2 is one of the best well-rounded smartphones available in this price range. The display quality offered by the phone also makes a strong case in its favour.

Expert comment:   Drawing some of the aesthetic elements from the Zenfone Max Pro M1, the Max M1 comes with some really good specs for the price range. The budget offering from ASUS comes with a clean UI, good display, and a respectable battery life. The fingerprint sensor allows you to unlock the phone with convenience, which is not the case with some of the affordable phones.

Expert comment:   One of the very few handsets in this price range to feature a USB type-C charging port, Nokia 5.1 Plus comes with a rather premium design. Reminiscent of Nokia 6.1 Plus, the 5.1 Plus comes with Android One branding, much like the rest of the Nokia handsets. The phone features a fingerprint sensor at the rear and has dual rear cameras for clicking portrait shots. As it goes with all Nokia handsets, you get no bloatware and the handset serves stock iteration of Android with Go apps pre-installed.

Expert comment:   Infinix has developed a reputation for offering good specifications at an extremely affordable price and the brand's Smart 2 is no different in terms of approach. The Smart 2 comes with an HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The handset packs capable 13MP and 8MP sensors, both assisted by LED flash, at rear and front, respectively. Simplistic design, decent battery life, and software-based bokeh support for the front camera make the handset a compelling buy.

Expert comment:   Near bezel-less display and stylish design make Tecno Spark 4 Air an appealing buy in this price segment. Admittedly, this handset does not have some of the most impressive features, compared with the other offerings on the list, but it does come with dual rear cameras. The primary 13MP camera is capable of taking good shots, considering that we are talking about a pocket-friendly offering.

Answered By Akansha Dasgupta | 2 years ago

The best phone between 5000 to 80000 price range is Smartron srt.phone 64GB, priced at Rs 7,439. This is a really powerful handset with huge storage space. It is powered by a 1.8GHz Octa-Core processor and has a 13MP superb primary camera. It is protected by Gorilla Glass, has a fingerprint sensor and also supports quick charging.

Alternatively, a really good choice would be Micromax Canvas 6 Pro which is priced at Rs 7,749. This device has a similar configuration and renders excellent performance lack but lacks fast charging support.

You can also look at 10.or E priced at Rs 6,999. It has nice cameras, front flash and huge battery capacity of 4000mAh.

You can look for more phones under Rs 8000 here

Verdict: Smartron srt.phone is a popular and smart choice under Rs 9000 price bar. It has high-end configurations and superb cameras.
