BenQ has launched its new MA270S monitor in India, a 27-inch 5K display aimed squarely at Mac users and creative professionals. Priced at Rs 94,998, the MA270S becomes the latest addition to the brand’s MA Series, positioned as a high-end companion display for Apple’s desktop and laptop lineup.
The monitor features a 5K (5120×2880) resolution with a pixel density of 218ppi, 99 percent DCI-P3 colour coverage, and a 2000:1 contrast ratio — specs that put it close to Apple’s own Studio Display. It runs at a 70Hz refresh rate and uses what BenQ calls a Nano Gloss Panel to enhance contrast and colour depth.
Unlike standard monitors tweaked for Mac connectivity, the MA270S is tuned from the ground up to follow macOS colour and brightness behaviour. It also supports automatic colour profile syncing, keyboard-based brightness and volume control, and workspace tools via the BenQ Display Pilot 2 app.
The monitor connects and powers MacBooks through Thunderbolt 4 with up to 96W power delivery. It also supports daisy-chaining two 5K displays and includes HDMI and USB-C ports, plus a Smart KVM feature to switch between multiple systems with one keyboard and mouse. Additional ports include HDMI and USB-C, while a built-in KVM switch allows switching between two systems using the same keyboard and mouse.
Alongside the hardware, BenQ is bundling its Display Pilot 2 software to improve integration with macOS. Features include syncing colour profiles automatically, controlling brightness and volume through the Mac keyboard, and managing screen layouts.
In terms of design, the MA270S uses a Nano Gloss panel and a height-adjustable stand with tilt, swivel, and pivot support. The overall design is kept minimal to align with typical Mac setups. With this launch, BenQ is targeting the growing segment of Mac-based creators looking for Studio Display alternatives that still integrate tightly with macOS workflows.
