ColorOS 16 starts rolling out globally to Find N5, Find X8 Pro, and Find X8; more to follow
OPPO has started rolling out ColorOS 16, its latest software skin based on Android 16, for its recent flagships globally. The first smartphones to get the update include the OPPO Find N5, Find X8 Pro, and Find X8, the rollout for which started on November 6th. The second batch includes the Find N3, Find N3 Flip, and OPPO Pad 3 Pro, and they’ll get the update starting November 11. The rollout will happen gradually, so users may see the update appear on their devices over a few days.
ColorOS 16 comes with several performance enhancements powered by the new Luminous Rendering Engine and Trinity Engine, making app launches faster, scrolling smoother, and touch more responsive. Animation speeds have improved, as has the fluidity of the interface. The redesigned interface looks fresher and cleaner with natural light effects, new dynamic wallpapers, and a full-screen always-on display.
A number of AI-powered features have also been introduced which include AI Portrait Glow, AI Eraser, and Master Cut to support photo and video editing. OPPO’s AI suite also introduces AI Mind Space, AI Mind Assistant, and Smart Collections for more efficient content organisation and management.
ColorOS 16 integrates Google’s multimodal assistant Gemini Live, allowing real-time contextual interactions. Besides, connectivity has been enhanced through O+ Connect to make file sharing across Windows and macOS platforms easier.
Privacy features have been strengthened with the addition of OPPO Lock, featuring Call to Lock and Dual Verification. Then there is the Private Computing Cloud, where data will be kept secure in OPPO’s private servers.
OPPO has revealed the timeline for the COlorOS 16 rollout, with its top-end Find lineup getting the update in 2025, and the mid-rangers getting it soon after:
November 2025: OPPO Find N3 Flip, Find X8 Pro, Find X8, Reno 14 Pro, Reno 14, Reno 13 Pro, Reno 13
December 2025: OPPO Find N2 Flip, K13 Turbo Pro 5G, K13 Turbo 5G
