Huawei GT6 and GT6 Pro smartwatches expected to launch in India next week

Highlights

Huawei seems to be getting ready for another big smartwatch launch in India. Industry sources have hinted that Huawei GT6 and GT6 Pro, the company’s upcoming smartwatches, may arrive on leading e-commerce sites in India as early as next week. However, Huawei hasn’t confirmed either the date or pricing so far, but as indicated by reports, the new series is expected to place itself in the premium smartwatch segment, just like the way the brand positions these models globally.

The move comes after the impressive performance of Huawei GT5 in India, which witnessed steady demand among fitness-oriented and premium wearable buyers. Globally, the GT6 and GT6 Pro launched in September and have received good reviews for their advanced features for outdoor sports, particularly highly accurate wrist-based cycling power tracking. This is one of the standout capabilities that made this series popular among cyclists and endurance athletes, a demographic steadily growing in India as well.

Battery life is another highlight. Huawei says these watches can manage up to 21 days on one charge, depending on your usage. The models come with improved sleep tracking for more detailed recovery insights, a brighter AMOLED display that will serve users better in outdoor conditions, and 5ATM water resistance, which also makes them perfect during swimming and intense workout conditions. The GT6 Pro, featuring sapphire glass protection and a titanium alloy build, provides users who take their smartwatch outdoors quite frequently with an extra layer of durability and a premium finish.

If Huawei brings the same features to India, the GT6 series will sit compete with the likes of Samsung’s Galaxy Watch lineup, Garmin’s outdoor watches, and high-end models from Fitbit and Amazfit. Globally, the Huawei Watch GT6 comes in two 46mm and 41mm versions, starting at GB9 229.99 (around Rs 26,700). The Pro version starts at GBP 329.99 (around Rs 38,200).

The brand has been quite active in the smartphone segment in India lately. In October, Huawei unveiled the Watch D2 priced at Rs 34,499, sporting a 1.82-inch AMOLED display with Bluetooth calling, ECG, and skin temperature sensors, along with more than 80 exercise modes. It came with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. With the GT6 and GT6 Pro now set to follow, Huawei seems poised for a busy close to the year.
