Spigen Pixel 10 Pro Fold case review: making Google’s durable foldable even tougher

The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold (review) is Google’s most durable foldable phone yet. In fact, it is the only foldable currently in the market to offer IP68 dust and water resistance. It features a new gearless hinge design that’s supposed to prevent dust from accumulating over time in typical gear-based hinges. So, while it can resist dust and water, it’s a premium flagship that’s made of glass and needs all the protection it can get from accidental drops and bumps. That’s where Spigen’s latest cases come in.

I’ve been testing the Spigen Slim Armor Pro (MagFit) and Ultra Hybrid (MagFit) with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold for over a week, and both make compelling arguments depending on how you use your foldable. One prioritises rugged protection with hinge coverage, while the other shows off the Pixel Fold’s elegant design without compromising too much on safety.

Build

The Slim Armor Pro (MagFit) immediately feels reassuring in the hand. It combines a hard polycarbonate shell with flexible TPU layers to create a sturdy, impact-resistant frame that wraps around the Pixel 10 Pro Fold like armor, as the name suggests. The matte finish offers a good grip without feeling rubbery, and the extra hinge guard, using Spigen’s SecuLink technology, keeps the fold mechanism fully protected from dust and scratches. Now, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is a bulky phone, more so than other foldables currently in the market, and the Slim Armor Pro does add to that bulk, making the phone feel thicker and heavier than it already is.

Meanwhile, the Ultra Hybrid (MagFit) takes the opposite approach. It’s clear, minimal, and designed for those who prefer to show off Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold’s design. Made of durable polycarbonate with TPU edges, the case feels firm and rigid but not brittle. The transparent back lets the Pixel’s premium finish and hinge design shine through, while still offering a confident grip. The built-in magnet ring is neatly integrated, and cutouts around the USB-C port and speaker grills are clean and precise.

Protection

The Slim Armor Pro is built for serious protection. Its Air Cushion Technology at the corners absorbs shocks from accidental drops, while raised lips around the display and cameras prevent direct contact with flat surfaces. The full hinge cover ensures that no part of the foldable mechanism remains exposed, addressing one of the biggest concerns with foldable phones. In daily use, it provides the kind of confidence you don’t get with lighter, thinner cases.

The Ultra Hybrid, while not as rugged, still offers solid day-to-day protection. It features slightly raised bezels to protect both the inner and outer displays, and the polycarbonate back resists scratches from keys and coins in your pocket. It’s a good middle ground: not overbuilt, but reliable enough for casual use.

Comparison with Google’s official Pixel Fold case

Google’s first-party Pixelsnap cases for the Pixel 10 Pro Fold look premium and stylish but they are also expensive at around Rs 7,000 a pop. Its open hinge design leaves the most vulnerable part of the phone exposed, and the polycarbonate material might wear down quickly.

In contrast, Spigen’s Slim Armor Pro provides full hinge coverage with added reinforcement around the edges, while the Ultra Hybrid delivers clearer transparency. Both cases cost under Rs 4,000, making them more affordable than Google’s Pixelsnap cases.

Extras

Both Spigen cases are MagFit-ready, meaning they work seamlessly with Google’s upcoming Pixelsnap accessories and MagSafe-compatible magnetic mounts. Another point to note is that the cases don’t cover the side buttons, so you don’t get that clunky feeling as you press the Fold’s sturdy buttons directly.

The Slim Armor’s SecuLink mechanism, which connects the two halves of the case securely, feels particularly well-engineered. It ensures the case doesn’t shift or slide during folds and unfolds, maintaining a snug fit at all times.

Verdict

The Spigen Slim Armor Pro (MagFit) is the ideal choice for anyone who prioritises protection. It’s built like a tank, offers full hinge coverage, and still manages to look refined rather than rugged. If you’re planning to use your Pixel 10 Pro Fold as your daily driver and want peace of mind, this is the one to go for.

The Ultra Hybrid (MagFit), on the other hand, is the smarter option if you want something thinner and more stylish. It shows off your Pixel’s design while still offering reliable everyday protection. It’s not as tough as the Slim Armor, but it’s perfect for users who handle their phones carefully and appreciate a clear, minimalist aesthetic.
